Ukrainian President Volodymr Zelensky behaved in a “sassy” manner during a Friday afternoon photo op with President Donald Trump, according to the searing commentary provided by Fox & Friends Monday morning.

Much has been made of the historic spat between Trump and Zelensky over diplomatic efforts to end the Russian invasion of Ukraine, which unfolded before assembled members of the press then immediately viewed by a global audience once the footage became available.

The Rorhshach moment has created two basic reactions: some saw Zelensky as the victim of a performative ambush by two bullies in Trump and Vice President JD Vance. In contrast, others saw Zelensky as the real culprit, sparking calls for an apology or resignation from Trump loyalists.  Shocker: Fox & Friends fell into the Trump loyalist side of the debate.

“Well, we saw that this relationship right there between the three of them is fractured,” said Steve Doocy over images of the press conference rolled on screen. “And Mr. Zelensky — tone deaf — going in and fighting back, getting sassy with the president.”

“It was sassy!” Lawrence Jones agreed, to which Doocy repeated, “He WAS sassy!”

“He got some bad advice from somebody. But it certainly was not the White House,” Doocy continued. “They said Mr. Mr.. Zelensky show up, wear a suit. Lindsey Graham said, ‘Whatever you do, don’t get into an argument.’ So what does Zelensky do? He gets

into an argument with Donald Trump and Mr. Vance, and suddenly Mr. Z is looking for plan B.”

Yeah, he was kicked out of the White House,” Ainsley Earhardt chimed in. “He said, go home, go packing because we’re not giving you this deal. Because Zelensky wanted security guarantees. And President Trump and J.D. Vance said, look, you have not been grateful. Look at what we’ve done. We’ve sent you weapons. We’ve sent you money, and you have to be grateful.”

While conventional wisdom on right continues a narrative that Zelenksy is to blame for “taking the bait” as Lindsey Graham warned against, there are others who saw Trump and Vance baiting the Ukrainian leader who had the temerity to question why diplomatic efforts with alleged war criminal Vladimir Putin would hold this go around, when a 2019 cease-fire deal was broken when he ordered the Russian military to invade his country.
