Boehner: I Haven’t Spoken to Ted Cruz ‘Since He’s Been Elected’
House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) talks to a lot of people in the course of doing his job, but for some reason, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) isn’t one of them, how very curious.
“I’ve not talked to him since he’s been elected,” Boehner revealed in an interview with the Cincinnati Enquirer, and left it at that. Cruz was elected in 2012 and played a major role in recent events that threatened to derail Boehner’s agenda, like the times Cruz attempted to hijack down the federal government over Obamacare, the debt ceiling, border patrol, etc.
Boehner didn’t elaborate further, according to the wide-ranging interview, but did admit that he had at least one best friend in the Senate:
“[Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell] and I could not be closer,” Boehner said. “We understand each other very well.”
It’s like a contentious divorce with a trillion-dollar alimony that’s taking place in a high school.
