Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump sent out– and then deleted– a tweet accusing rival Ted Cruz of having illegally stolen the Iowa caucus Wednesday.
Trump later sent out an identical tweet, but with the word “illegally” and other typos removed.
Trump went on to explain that Cruz “stole” the election with a controversial mailer and by spreading a rumor that Ben Carson was dropping out of the race. (Cruz later apologized for the latter). As a result, he demanded either that a new Iowa caucus be held, or that the results be nullified.
