It’s Day 6 at Wimbledon, the last day before the traditional “Middle Sunday,” which is an off day for the field. And things are just about beginning to get serious at the All England Club.
Defending men’s champion Andy Murray survived a tough four-setter on Friday, overcoming multiple set points against him in the fourth to take the match. And it was mostly smooth sailing for Rafael Nadal, who had to win a tiebreak in the third, but ultimately did win his match in straights to get to the round of 16.
On the ladies’ side, Venus Williams advanced with a straight set victory. And second-seeded Simona Halep did the same, setting up some terrific potential match-ups next week.
Among the big names in action Saturday for the men are Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic. And for the women, Angelique Kerber and Agnieszka Radwanska will both be on court.
Coverage begins at 8:00 a.m. ET, and will continue throughout the day. ESPN will air it live in all time zones. It will also be streamed online, via WatchESPN, free with a cable subscription. The Watch ESPN app can be downloaded from the iTunes store and the Google Play store.
