Politifact Calls Out Kamala Harris For Deceptively Editing Clip of Brett Kavanaugh Talking Abortion
Kavanaugh chooses his words very carefully, and this is a dog whistle for going after birth control. He was nominated for the purpose of taking away a woman’s constitutionally protected right to make her own health care decisions. Make no mistake – this is about punishing women. pic.twitter.com/zkBjXzIvQI

Senator Kamala Harris (D-CA) got called out today after she apparently tried to mislead people on what Brett Kavanaugh said in his confirmation hearings last week.
Since Kavanaugh’s appointment to the Supreme Court might have considerable implications for Roe V. Wade, there’s been a great deal of chatter over the question of whether he believes abortion rights are settled law. As you can see above, Harris, on Friday, tweeted a clip of Kavanaugh in which he seemed to suggest that birth control is an “abortion-inducing” apparatus.
As Politifact pointed out, that clip of Kavanaugh is deceptively edited and taken out of context. In fact, Kavanaugh made his comments about “abortion-inducing drugs” with reference to Priests for Life — a Catholic non-profit group opposed to providing contraception.
If you look at the full video Harris tweeted to go along with the short version, you might notice something is missing:
Here is Kavanaugh's full answer. There's no question that he uncritically used the term "abortion-inducing drugs," which is a dog whistle term used by extreme anti-choice groups to describe birth control. pic.twitter.com/PMbZzu8DqD

Since Harris’s first tweet depicts Kavanaugh’s comments about the position of Priests for Life as if it were his own, Politifact has reviewed the senator’s tweet and judged it as “false.”
