Victoria’s Secret is going through a major overhaul lately! First, their new ad campaign let us know that, and I quote, “no padding is sexy now!” That alone was a lot to take in after years and years of hearing about how padding was so sexy, but alas, no padding is sexy now. The overlords have spoken.
They’ve also made a decision that will shock longtime VS fans. With the rise of
internet porn online shopping, there is just no longer a need for their infamous catalog to be sent to the homes of private citizens any longer.
Last year, they ran a little experiment and reduced their catalog production and distribution by 40%, according to AdWeek. They saw no major dent in their overall sales, so now, the catalog is caput, which they’re probably not sad about since it was costing them between $125 million and $150 million every year.
