Mark Burns, President Donald Trump’s personal spiritual advisor who was deemed “Trump’s Top Pastor” by Time Magazine, visited Ukraine and is now publicly calling for the president to send F-35s, tanks, and anti-drone weaponry to help end the war.

Burns endorsed the president for his first campaign in 2016 and has been a staunchly outspoken supporter, sparring with cable news hosts and other journalists in Trump’s defense. He was invited to visit Ukraine by Chief Rabbi of Ukraine Moshe Azman and visited several cities over the weekend that had been the site of Russian atrocities since the invasion, including Bucha, Borodianka, and Irpin.

The pastor posted several photos and videos on social media, urging support for Ukraine — including a specific call for the U.S. to send more planes, tanks, and weaponry.

One tweet included a video of multiple clips of Burns meeting with Ukrainian faith leaders, viewing photos of Russian war crimes, and visiting churches, memorial sites, and civilian areas reduced to rubble.

In a lengthy caption, Burns declared that

the war in Ukraine was “bigger than Democrats or Republicans, the Left or the Right,” and encouraged his followers to put aside any dislike they might have for Trump or Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky, because “real people are dying here.”

Burns’ tweet continued:

20,000 children have been kidnapped and stolen to Russia. 300 women were recently raped, as reported by multi-faith religious leaders. 700 religious buildings have been destroyed on purpose because they are often the only source of hope offered to the Ukrainian people. Innocent non-soldiers shot in the back of the head with their hands tied behind their backs. We in America know how fake news lies constantly about our great President Trump. Well, it exists here too to sway popular opinion. When I’m seeing pictures of dead bodies of children and old people, or hear firsthand accounts of pastors having their hands tied behind their backs made to get on their knees and shot in the back of their heads, or the very young citizen soldiers who took up arms getting blown to pieces by attack drones thanking President Trump and begging for more ammunition to defend their homes, young wives, and children, I care less about whether you like President Zelensky or don’t want to give more money to Ukraine. These soldiers on the front lines are not asking for money. They are asking for 1,000 tanks, 300 F-35s, anti-air weapons

to shoot down the drones that still fire at civilian buildings, and killing people. Remember, it was President Trump who sent Javelins instead of pillows. President Trump is the innocent civilian of Ukraine’s greatest friend. He will bring an end to this war. Everyone here in Ukraine is thanking President @realdonaldtrump Trump and America for standing with Ukraine.Pray with me that peace comes quickly in Jesus’s name! And no, I’ve not been paid by no one. I’m was invited by @chiefrabbiukraine, who’s done so much to help the refugees in Ukraine. For him and me, it’s not about politics it’s about human lives. My loyalty is first to the Lord Jesus Christ and, second to my nation and president, Donald J. Trump. #ukraine #russia #peace #Zelensky #Putin #Trump

Burns’ visit seems to have been viewed favorably by the Ukrainian government; the government-run United24 platform posted several photos and videos clips touting his time in Ukraine on its social media accounts and in a featured article on its website.

In other posts, Burns decried Russia’s “systematic religious persecution” of the Ukrainian people, including kidnapping and forcibly deporting over 20,000 Ukrainian children, destroying over 700 churches, mosques, synagogues, temples, and other houses of worship, and “

brutally murder[ing]” clergy. “Yet despite these horrors, Ukraine stands strong as a beacon of religious freedom, welcoming ALL faiths,” Burns added.
