Luka Doncic Pleads for ‘Inside the NBA’ to Continue Amid Uncertain Contract Talks: ‘We Gotta Figure Out Something’

Shortly after helping secure the Dallas Mavericks’ spot in the NBA Finals, Luka Doncic went on live TV to plead for TNT’s Inside the NBA to continue.

With the NBA recently formalizing deals with its broadcast partners beginning in 2025, reality has begun setting in that TNT may not be part of that deal. For the league, losing TNT means losing Inside the NBA, one of the best sports shows in the entire industry.

Because TNT doesn’t broadcast the NBA Finals, Inside the NBA came to a close for the season with the conclusion of the Western Conference Finals between the Mavs and the Minnesota Timberwolves. Before signing off for the season, the crew welcomed Doncic to the desk for a brief interview. That’s when Charles Barkley told Doncic they would miss him because they’re done.

“You ain’t done yet,” Doncic said with a grin. “We gotta figure out something.”

It seemed as though Doncic was under the impression that this season would be the last for Inside the NBA. Host Ernie Johnson then clarified that they’ll at least be back for one final season, as the current contract goes until 2025.

“Oh, we got all next year, too,” Johnson said. “And then, who knows after that.”
