‘Look Into My Eyes’: Furious ‘Vaccine-Injured’ GB News Audience Member Confronts Rishi Sunak
Prime Minister Rishi Sunak found himself confronted by a furious audience member who ripped the government for lack of support and compensation for those injured by the Covid-19 vaccine.
The incident came in the middle of a ranging live hour-long grilling at the GB News’ People’s Forum hosted in Durham. The audience members, comprised of “undecided voters” selected by polling firm Survation, interrogated the prime minister on many policy points, from the Rwanda Bill to the NHS, when the man took the mic to demand Sunak “see the pain, trauma, and regret” in his eyes.
“I have so much to say but such little time. My name is John Watt and I am one of the Covid vaccine-injured in this country.” the audience member began. “I want you to look into my eyes Rishi Sunak and I want you to look at the pain, the trauma and regret that I have in my eyes.
Watt said: “We have been left with no help at all. I am not the only vaccine injured – there is another man over there whose life has been ruined by the Covid-19 vaccine. I know people who have lost legs – amputations, people with heart conditions like myself Rishi Sunak. Why have I had to set up a support group in Scotland to look after the people that have been affected by that vaccine? Why are the people who are in charge who told us all to do the right thing, have me and the tens of thousands of people in this country to rot?”
He continued: “Rishi Sunak, look me in the eye- when are you going to start to do the right thing. The vaccine damage payments scheme is not fit for purpose. In Scotland right now there are over 30,000 people who have had an adverse reaction to that vaccine. It’s time for you to start doing the right thing Mr Rishi Sunak.”
Watt, who campaigns as part of the Scottish Vaccine Injury Group, has appeared on GB News before as a guest on Mark Steyn’s show.
In reply to Watt’s personal story, the prime minister replied: “I am very sorry to hear about your personal circumstances and you said someone over here has suffered from a similar thing. I don’t know about the individual circumstances that you are in.”
Watt interrupted: “We have been silenced, Rishi, silenced.”
Sunak continued: “There is a vaccine compensation scheme in place. Obviously it is difficult for me to comment on anyone’s individual case, I’m sure you will appreciate that. I’m very saddened and shocked to hear you have been silenced.”
The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) maintains that the Covid vaccine is safe, with adverse side effects being statistically rare.
Bereaved individuals and families as well as those claiming injury as a result of the Covid-19 vaccines have received payments through the government’s vaccine damage payment scheme (VDPS), according to the British Medical Journal (BMJ). The scheme covers injury from non-covid vaccines also.
