Bravo Accidentally Spoils The Winner Of Top Chef Hours Before Finale Airs

Bad move. Hours before tonight’s finale of Top Chef airs on Bravo, the network published a clip from the reunion show on Bravo.com. The contents of the clip? Well, it’s Bravo’s Andy Cohen congratulating the victor on his or her win. Hmmm, someone’s probably going to get in trouble for that one. Spoiler-adverse beware! The clip below gives it all up.

This is the second time a Top Chef winner has been revealed early. During season two, Food & Wine accidentally posted an interview with the winner for that season before the finale had aired. This time, though, it was Bravo’s fault. It’s probably the worst case of a network’s online team ruining a surprise (that I can remember, at least) since FX accidentally spoiled a two season long mystery on the show Nip/Tuck by posting publicity shots of a the actor playing a serial rapist and murderer on their website a day before the identity was shown. At least in that case, FX was able to deny what the pictures meant. In the Top Chef clip the finale and its ending are discussed at length.
