Brian Williams Jokes About NBC’s Late Night Problems, Slow Jams The News

NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams appeared on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon Friday for an interview segment as well as a cameo with The Roots and Fallon during their regular “Slow Jam The News” sketch.

“Brilliams” talked budget in song, and joked about NBCU’s problems during the interview.

Williams joked about the Late Night situation, and the success of NBC News, with Fallon:

Fallon: It’s like the one division of NBC that’s working.
Williams: You and I have, I think, the only two shows here.
Fallon: They keep rotating us around. Are you on at 10 o’clock now?
Williams: I am forced to admit that yes we’re doing very well, we’re really proud of it.

Williams also talked about the new broadcast evening news scene, with Williams as the “one bro” left. “We’re freakishly competitive,” he said. “I actually watch the competition, TiVo, DVR. We’re all chasing the same story.”

Brian Williams slow jams the news – something that was “on his bucket list”:

In another thread, I said that I thought Mr. Williams tries to leave the news out of his humor. I assume that he didn’t write this, but maybe I was wrong because this is at least similar to Brokaw’s gags for Dave.

Still, the above was quite funny. Thanks for posting the clip.

Brian Williams is amazing here. He doesn’t even come close to cracking a smile, meanwhile Fallon can’t keep it together. Not that keeping a straight face was ever Jimmy’s strong suit, but still, Brian Williams shows again he’s a comedy natural.

I have used mint off and on. I love how the design and user interface, but I wish it would work with the bank that holds my checking account. Perhaps i’ll try out some of your other suggestions. Thanks for the info!

Robert Gibbs Gets Foreman Grilled Over Congressional Black Caucus

Since taking office as the United States' first black president, Barack Obama has taken pains to maintain the perception that he's post-racial, that he's everybody's President, while taking criticism that he hasn't done enough for black Americans. His meeting today with the Congressional Black Caucus, the source of much of that criticism, was the catalyst for an exchange at today's White House briefing that perfectly encapsulated that tension, as Robert Gibbs fielded literally dueling questions from April Ryan and Lester Kinsolving.

Must See TV: Glenn Beck And The ‘Fatty Fat Fat Pie’

    your moment of glenn

The pie in question is the 'twice-fried cherry pie' from a Brooklyn restaurant called The Chip Shop (if you ever go there make sure to have the deep fried Mars Bar). The menu states that the pie has been banned by New York State, presumably as part of their saturated fats ban. IT IS A PIE TOO FAR. I encourage you to watch the clip and then reflect on the restraint Glenn Beck showed during the Eric Massa interview.
