Donald Trump Records A Michigan Robo-Call For Romney, Calling Santorum A ‘Career Politician’

In case you’ve forgotten, Donald Trump supports Mitt Romney for president. The latest addition to his media rounds, Trump has moved on to robo-calls — and hopes the citizens of Michigan will hear him out.

While praising Romney, the recording also criticizes Santorum:

This is Donald Trump and I have to tell you that I’m tired of Rick Santorum pretending that he’s some kind of DC outsider…

Calling Santorum a “career politician” with no private sector experience, Trump goes on to say Romney ” a good man, he’s working hard … He will win. You’ve got to give him that chance.”

The Atlantic Wire notes Trump has often used the term “good man” to “describe moderate Republican losers”:

A search through Lexis Nexis shows Trump has called many a failed presidential candidate a “good man”: Steve Forbes, Rudy Giuliani (also a “great man”), George H.W. Bush, John McCain (also a “quality man”). Former New York Gov. George Pataki, who flirted for about five seconds with getting in the race last year, is a “terrific man.” Former defense secretary Donald Rumsfeld, who did not exactly leave office at peak popularity, as well as failed Democratic presidential candidate Paul Tsongas get the “good man” recognition.

And Romney vs. Santorum continues…

Did you see Rachel Maddows graph of Romneys popularity since the Trump endorsement?

  • http://mediamatters.org/ Leedog

Yes I did… dropping like a rock and Romney deserves it for being so desperate that he felt he need Mr. Birther’s endorsement!!

Wasn’t Romney the first to decline his debate?

Keep in mind, Donald Trump is rich only because Donald Trump’s dad was rich.

The Donald …Mr “Too Broke to Fail”,  once again begs to be relevant!

A possum head bankrupt too broke to fail
Thought the electoral process was for sale
    He wanted to moderate
    His own personal debate
So the candidates could kiss under his tail!

I can’t imagine ever voting for Santorum, unless I’m eating dinner or watching tv, and I get interrupted by a robocall with the Donald’s voice telling me to vote for Romney over Santorum.

I think Mitt at this point is hoping people are forgetting Trump supports him

The Trump is hurting Mitt. If I was Mitt I would tell him to get lost.

Paul and Huntsman were the only ones who had the guts to refuse to kiss Trump’s ring in any manner.

    Subject: The Great GOP Divide

Ah the battle of the bombastic, blustering blowhards. Or tag team wrestlers, if you prefer.

In one corner you have Romney supporters and take no prisoners media stars Donald Trump and Governor Christi.

In the other corner you have Santorum supporters (mega right wing media stars) Bill O’Reilly and Rush Limbaugh … who incidentally have Rupert Murdoch in their corner like Don King looking over his prized heavyweights..

This all makes for an interesting dynamic as the primary race moves on.

Gee, that was quite the challenge finding the audio.

I am surprised Mediaite did not provide a link to the robocall (that I know of).
