Hillary Clinton Is NOT Happy: Israel “Insulted” The U.S.

Secretary Of State Clinton Hillary Clinton is not happy with Israel. Earlier this week, during Vice President Joe Biden‘s trip there, Israel made a surprise, seriously ill-timed announcement of a 1,600 home development project to be built in a disputed part of East Jerusalem. The U.S. was not pleased (to put it mildly) and Clinton apparently said as much in a phone call to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu earlier today, and later elaborated in an interview with CNN.

Clinton prefaced her remarks by saying that the U.S. enjoys a “durable, strong,” relationship with the U.S. that is “rooted in common values” but then became quite stern. She is not amused.

We have to make clear to our Israeli friend and partner that the Two State Solution, which we support, which the Prime Minister himself has said he supports, requires confidence building measure on both sides and the announcement of the settlements, the very day the Vice President was there, was insulting, it was really a very unfortunate and difficult moment for everyone.

Clinton doesn’t go so far as to accuse Netanyahu of knowing about the announcement in advance, but she seems to be a bit surprised that he didn’t. Video below.

Israel is the graveyard of all American hopes for peace in the Middle East. Every new administration comes in all gung-ho to promote a settlement between Israel and its neighbors. There is always a new idea, a new proposal, a new envoy and often a new catchy phrase (remember “Road Map for Peace”?).

And what does Israel do? Basically it tells the American administration, the American envoy, the American Congress and ultimately the American people to “bend over and grease up” because Israel is going to screw America all over again.

I know what America gives Israel-billions of dollars in military and economic aid. In fact, a report by Thomas Stauffer, Ph.D., in 2003 estimated the total cumulative cost to American taxpayers at 3 Trillion dollars.

What I would like to know is: what does Israel give us? What advantage does the United States derive from having Israel as a so-called “ally”? None that I can discern, and I’ve been discerning for a long time. Is it any wonder that the Arabs hate us? I’m sure it’s hard for an Palestinian boy who has just lost a leg to an bomb to make the distinction that the F-16 that delivered it was flown by an Israeli pilot, not an American.

From the Jewish Voice for Peace website:
“U.S. military aid to Israel has a dramatic effect on Israel’s policies towards the Palestinians. It has increasingly been used not to pay for defense but to finance the Israeli occupation of Palestinian lands. It keeps Israel from facing the difficult but necessary challenges of building a more democratic society, and encourages solving deep-rooted problems by military rather than peaceful and more effective means… ”

The fact is that Israel is a stranger in a strange land. The local demographics are against it-it cannot match the growth of Arab population. How long before the demographics of the US, which is becoming less Eurocentric and more Hispanic, Asian, and African, turn against it?

……………….and the point of the story is?

Does anyone really think the Israelis care about what the Obama gang says? They don’t like Obama! In fact in a poll from June 2009, only 6% of Israelis approved of Obama.

I guess people notice when you diss your allies and cuddle your enemies.

When will the American Jews wake up to what their dear leader is up to?

BeBe probably just put the phone down and walked away while our idiot SoS screeched away….. just like her husband used to do, I imagine.

The Israelis don’t give a sh!t what the Obama administration thinks about them…and who the hell can blame them. Remember how Cankles used to cozy up to Arafish and his wife who is now living the life of a billionaire is Paris?…from the money they stole from the Palestinians?

God..this administration if filled with nothing but incompetent, corrupt morons.

To this day, I wonder why Israel has such hearts as to let the Palestinians exist. Why Israel has not just flattened them is beyond me.
Oh well, the Israelis are just better people than I.

U.S. must not take it ill even if Israel has said something undesirable because there is strong ties between the two nations. And spoiling our strategic relations with Israel over petty things is not advisable at all.

I wonder if the Israelis were insulted because America sent its *vice* president, rather than its president, to visit? It almost sounds like a tit-for-tat because President Obama continues to attempt to placate the Muslim world by not being overly friendly to Israel. I.e., by not visiting Israel himself, or has he already? I guess it’s all about timing, regardless.

Obama cant visit one of our strongest Allies and never will. He is off to Malaysia to kiss ass and bow to his Muslims buddies of that country.

It gets me why so many American Jews voted for him when he does not give a crap about them.

    @Azarkhan

Wow I think you and I actually agree on something pretty much completely. Where we may separate in the reasoning behind the US support of Israel, and I believe that we support them for purely biblical reasons. Israel obviously does not want a resolution to the Israel/Palestine senario. Israel is getting tons of US aid yearly and access to our weapons.

The US needs to make an ultimatum to Israel and tell them to play by our rules or else. Until Israel can peacefully reconcile their differences with their neighbors and stop taking land that is not internationally recognized as theirs and settling it then we should withdrawl our partnership with them. If Israel is so scard of Iran, then they should start listening to us and realize they are being ignorant.

Let me guess: The Douchey reported that President Obama has never visited Israel and never will.

O, the dangers of relying on FOX News! The tragedy of one network ignorance!

The history of Islam includes total commitment to total annihilation of all Jews and their homeland. It always has done so. Israelis were settled in Israel by decision of the major powers at that time. They were being massacred in the millions in Germany and Russia. Certainly there is a very close tie between Israel and the US. Insofar as I can tell, Jews in American support the Constitution, and aren’t trying to kill anyone that espouses belief in a different diety.

I also believe that the US should draw a line and expect Israel to stop expanding, period. If they continue to do so, we start withdrawing support on a sliding scale to the point of no support at all. That is our responsibility. If the Israelis choose to commit suicide out of stubborn arrogance, that is their decision.
