Primary Preview? Haley Barbour Damns Sarah Palin With Faintest Of Praise

barbour Chris Matthews had Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour on his program yesterday to discuss, among other things, Sarah Palin‘s qualifications to be President of the United States. Barbour’s response can best be described as equal parts hemming and hawing, and ultimately damning Palin with the faint praise of “she’s a lot brighter than she gets credit for.” Video after the jump.

Some pundits have pointed to Barbour as a viable Republican nominee for the 2012 Presidential election, and even more see Palin’s book tour as a campaign preview of her likely presidential run. Could this be a preview of the GOP primary in the next presidential election?
