“Protect Insurance Companies!”: Will Ferrell, Jon Hamm, Olivia Wilde In Health Care PSA Spoof
In the tradition of “Prop 8: The Musical” and a satirical echo of the “Yes, We Can” video, comedians and celebs like Will Ferrell, Jon Hamm, Olivia Wilde, Donald Faison (Scrubs) and Thomas Lennon (Reno 911) star in the latest “Funny or Die” video spoofing health care PSAs, vowing to “protect” insurance companies from the damaging injustice of health care reform.
“Why is Obama trying to reform health care when insurance companies are doing just fine making billions of dollars in profit?” wonders Will Ferrell. “We need to remember who the real victims are,” says Faison. Says Hamm: “The health insurance executive.” It continues in that sort of vein for a little too long — the video is 2:30 — but it’s hard to miss the point. Which no doubt works for its backer, MoveOn.org, which gets the last frame of the video, urging viewers to call their representatives and demand a public option.
Also, Jon Hamm is hot. Vote for Jon Hamm!
