Readers Make Hard Choice to Not Buy Hillary Clinton’s Book
Sales of Hillary Clinton’s new book Hard Choices fell by 43% in the second week, according to Nielsen BookScan, falling from a first-week’s total of 85,721 copies to 48,227.
Clinton’s book, which details her time as Secretary of State and is widely viwed as a prelude to a presidential run, received middling to outright bad reviews, while her book tour has been mired in gaffes over her family’s wealth and antics from pranksters — to say nothing of a certain squirrel.

Clinton’s book topped the hardcover bestseller list last week, but has already dropped off Amazon’s Top 20. Her publisher, meanwhile, struck an optimistic tone.
“Simon & Schuster is thrilled with Hard Choices’ strong start right out of the gate, and the terrific feedback we’re hearing from reviewers, retailers, and, most importantly, readers,” Karp said. “Hard Choices is on a trajectory to being the best-selling nonfiction book of the year.”
