Superbowl 2010: Carrie Underwood’s Star-Spangled Banner

Clad in white with just enough cleavage as befits a nationally-televised sporting event, but just enough coverage to remain firmly Amercia’s bouncy blonde sweetheart, Carrie Underwood sang the national anthem out strong and star-spangled for SuperBowl XLIV, hitting “land of the free” with gusto, rousing the crowd with that high, soaring note as well as her sort of Barbarella-esque outfit. It’s a moment of extreme tension before the game gets underway, but at the same time it’s a lovely little moment where you get a glimpse in to the players’ emotion as they stand with their hands over their hearts. Nice performance by Underwood, though Randy Jackson might have called that final note a wee bit pitchy.

Underwood followed up Queen Latifah singing America The Beautiful from the pre-game show, and before that “Higher Love” by Steve Winwood; the half-time show will feature iconoic Bitish rockers The Who. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss…

    Barbarella? Are you psychedella?

Rachel, when people think about a Barbarella outfit, they don’t think about the lame one that you linked to, they think of the latex/plastic see-through body, and ….boobs.

    I can’t see Carrie Underwood’s boobs, Rachel!

If anything, I think her outfit is closer to this science fiction movie outfit
It even has the ridiculous heels.
