Geez, Eli, the book is longer than this? Well I’m going to read it all but just dont expect me to buy the book too. I’m wondering what Sklar had to do to get this for mediaite, hmmmm.

  • LaLaLauren

Yay!! Definitely a book I look forward to reading all of! :)

  • Pat Doherty

Eli Roth isn’t nearly interesting enough to merit this much space. Also, his Boston accent in “Inglorious Basterds” sucked.

I read it one go and didn’t want it to get over. It was very inspiring and I loved it. Thank you for sharing these details about your struggles to get to where you are today. It gives courage to people like me to not give up at any cost.

He should have definitely considered “The Book of Eli” as a title.

  • Rachel Sklar

@PatDoherty – He’s actually from the Boston area.

@Vegoia – I’ve never met Eli in person, though I certainly look forward to it someday. What I had to do to get it: ask.

@arieszen – I felt the same way. Thought it was amazing and inspiring and enjoyed putting it all together. And “keep your eye on the donut, not the hole” is my new mantra.

Rachel, I was hoping it was more of a jewcy story, oh well, keep me posted.

Since I get too distracted while at the computer, I decided to kill a tree and print this bad boy out (21 pages btw). I thought I would make some light bedtime reading for a few nights. NOT!! Once I started, I couldn’t stop.

Not only is this excerpt an eye-opener when it comes to the film industry, it is a revelation of the most enigmatic horror writer/director of the decade.

One of my fondest memories of my Mom before her passing is when we watched Hostel together. We both laughed hysterically at the scene when Paxton and the Asian chick are both screaming and her eye is hanging out of its socket! (Having recently revisited Hostel, it doesn’t seem that funny anymore, but it’s still a great memory.)

I thoroughly enjoy listening to Eli’s dvd commentaries, they are an education all on their own.

Definitely “keeping an eye out” (ahahahhahahahha !?) for the book—can’t wait to read it!

Now, if I could only figure out what my “Donut” in life is supposed to be . . .
