The Oscars’ Best Documentary Short Speech Gets Kanye’d (Video)
This may turn out the be the most interesting part of tonight’s snoozefestie Oscars. The Best Documentary Short speech was interrupted — Kanye’d as the lingo now goes — by red-headed Elinor Burkett. Burket was actually nominated for the award along with Roger Ross Williams but according to various Twitterers was not supposed to appear on stage for the speech. But boy did she ever.
UPDATE: Multiple viewings would suggest they raced eachother to the stage, he got there first, she verbally elbowed him out of the way for the win.
Monday morning Update: Salon has talked to Williams and Burkett and reports this was result of a long-standing feud between the two. A commenter below suggests there was even a cane involved! Video below.
