Steve Murphy Resigns as Rodale CEO
The hits keep coming. After 10 years of helping take Rodale to unseen heights in the publishing landscape, Steve Murphy is stepping down as CEO. Mediaite has the internal memo…
After ten years of dedicated leadership, Steve Murphy has decided to leave Rodale. With the full support of the Board and the family, I will continue as Chairman of the Board and assume the role of Chief Executive Officer. I will work to build on this strong foundation we have established over the past ten years to take this company to even greater heights. The change is effective September 1, at which time Steve will remain available to help with the transition. Please see the attached press release for the official announcement.
Steve has raised the quality of our products, instilled a culture of creativity and built an outstanding team. The entire Rodale family thanks Steve for his expert leadership, in particular his ability to ensure the company’s stability during a most challenging time. In addition, he has created an exceptionally strong management team-the best in the industry-and I am looking forward to their support.
I am confident that, as always, Rodale will turn this change into opportunities for growth and development. As you know, our family is completely dedicated to the success of the company and its mission, and I look forward to making sure the long term health of Rodale is strong for years to come.
Having worked closely over the last ten years with Steve, I am personally excited to see where his journey will take him next. In the meantime, please join me in wishing him all the best and thanking him for his outstanding service to Rodale.
Most sincerely,
Maria Rodale
