Bill Maher: “We Love The Troops The Way Michael Vick Loves Dogs”

video

Bill Maher is, among other things, a provocateur. He says things that are not just meant to entertain, but also raise eyebrows, or even get called out by media critics who don’t know any better than take the bait. But that’s not us! No – we are simply pointing out another example of Maher’s polemical stand-up routine that premiered tonight on HBO. In this instance, his frank and candid portrayal of how he sees how we, as a society, treat the US military is…well, shameful.

    F U Maher..!!

  • Azarkhan

Bill Maher is a little bitch. I would like to see him f**ked like a bitch by Vicks pit bulls.

  • Jelperman

    Truth hurts, don’t it?

  • JimW

F U Jelperman! Jelperman is a little bitch. I would like to see him f**ked like a bitch by Vicks pit bulls.

  • JimW

    Jelperman, Truth hurts, don’t it?

  • Jelperman

Looks like JimW got sand in his vagina. Awwwww, does your pussy still hurt?

  • slk

Tea Party American..your moniker mocks you more than I ever could. But as a compassionate person I feel I should send an oxygen tank so that at the very least you can breathe with your head so far up Sarah Palin’s ass.

Jim W–wow. I know the Oak Ridge Boys breaking up still stings, which would explain your tribute beard, but perhaps you can find a way to keep it on topic, as opposed to revealing some sick desire to see fellow posters rendering themselves for canines. I’m open-minded, but DAMN…

  • ImNotBlue

Come on guys… this is Jelperman’s closest step towards honesty and the truth in a while! Let’s give him some support!

So, Jelp… if you believe that… why don’t you tell the left-wing organizations that are always unfairly attacking, the politicians who are unfairly criticizing, and the various other bloggers who are always slandering America’s military… to stop?

You can start with Code Pink. Sadly Jack Murtha’s untimely passing (which really is tragic), prevents you from demanding he apologize for slandering the troops… but I’m sure you can find another politician. As for a blogger… well, Amazon.com has plenty of mirrors for sale.

  • slyder

Who are you imbeciles??? “FU Jelperman”???

Here’s a little read for you…of course I am assuming that ya’ll read.

Ever hear of Smedly Darlington Butler? Trick question…the ignorance so proudly displayed here is evidence enough that you haven’t… “conservatives” are lazy that way…facts and truth are altogther inconvienent.

Smedly Darlington Butler, that is, Major General Smedly Darlington Butler USMC, was the most decorated Marine of his day. He wrote an essay and traveled the country with its message…”War Is A Racket”. Ever hear of this great patriot boys? I doubt it lazy ass faux patriots. Read it if you have the balls (virtual) that you so “bravely” display here.

    http://www.ratical.org/ratville/CAH/warisaracket.pdf

You don’t like Bill Mayer? Of course not. Intelligence is always a threat. In the Maoist Revolution and the Russian Revolution, the very first purges were of the intelligent…teachers, University staff, free thinkers, vocal opposition…anyone that would question the propaganda of the new regime ( do y’all have a mirror?). Bill would be amongst the first to go. Oooo….remember Bills faux pas( sorry…French…continue eating your freedom fries) in criticizing the cowardice of the GW administration? Couldn’t kill him in the streets…couldn’t classify him an “enemy combatant”…no…assassinate his image. Fucking republican cowards.

I travel all over this country and meet a lot of people. Doesn’t matter where I go; if you watch Fox news and any of the talking heads you are going to look me in the eye and have what you think is an intelligent conversation. These past two weeks I was in Pasadina, Fresno, Austin, Dallas, Little Rock, Atlanta, Louisville, Daytona, Chicago and Syracuse. In each and every one of these places I met people that expressed the views I find here. The issue is not that the views expressed were similar…they were VERBATIM, just like in Communist Russia or China. Your “Little Red Book”…your “Communist Manifesto” is the propaganda from Fox et al. The people that I was talking with weren’t expressing thier own views even though they though they wrere…they were aping the VERY SAME WORDS…THAT is the power of propaganda…period. Insulted? Good! Because of your lack of real discernment and “true believer” attitude I consider you dangerous and an enemy of the state

I’m a vet…69-7…two tours…I was lied to…when I came back I was treated like shit…not from the citizens…by the cocksuckers that put the gun in my hands (USMC 68-72). Bill Maher is right on. HE is what a patriot is all about.

“Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety”. Benjamin Franklin

Remember him? Next time you call a patriot a bitch that needs it in the ass you may want to ask yourself qhy you are a republican given all the media attention give to the “proclivities” of the anal impacted right…(whole lot of you coming out of the closet…EWE!!!)

What in the HELL are you talking about? Slow down, focus, and try again.

  • slk

I’m Not True, as is usual in Repub style, deal with the truth being served by throwing by attacking (weakly) the one serving it. You have to attack because you HAVE NO CASE.

Now I understand that–I watch the dog whisperer, i understand yapping rat dogs that bark and bite because they’re insecure. But since Cesar Milan is unavailable, I’m going to radical thing here and treat you as an actual human being–perhaps, if you will, for those of us who lack your incisive wisdom and perspective into the ISSUE AT HAND, you can explain to us where Maher is factually incorrrect.

i feel we can get closer on this, me and you.

  • ImNotBlue

    slk says:
    February 14, 2010 at 1:48 am

I’ll do one better for you. Show me where I said Maher was factually incorrect… then we can proceed.

Oh, and while you’re at it… since in the other thread you seem to disregard information brought by FNC, for no other reason than you dislike them… why don’t you show me where THEY were factually incorrect. I mean, you want to be consistent… yes?

  • slk

That’s the point, Im Not True Love–you didn’t say he was factually inaccurate–BECAUSE YOU CAN’T. Instead of conceding the point, instead, you instead DO this…

Im Not Blue says:why don’t you tell the left-wing organizations that are always unfairly attacking, the politicians who are unfairly criticizing, and the various other bloggers who are always slandering America’s military… to stop?

MY DAUGHTER DOES THE SAME THING–SHE SPILLS MILK ON THE GROUND AND WHEN CALLED ON IT, CRIES ABOUT HOW MY SON BROKE THE LAMP TWO WEEKS EARLIER.

So frankly, you haven’t done shite. You can’t cop to when you’re wrong, or when the other side has a point, intead opting to draw a false equivalent about other bloggers. I thought this was about Bill Maher?

As for disregarding information, there you go again, Sally. I’ve answered you on the other thread–and the point wasn’t about factual inaccuracy. But you can’t win on the facts of your argument, so you attempt change the subject, change the game. Sorry–though I have no doubt you’ve spent a great deal of Saturday nights in chat rooms, this ain’t Star Trek, and you ain’t no Captain Kirk.

I’ll give you points on being consistant…you’re not interested in debate. So I’m here to dance with you as long as you’d like.

  • Jelperman

I realize that most right-wingers have an allergic reaction to logic, but even taking that fact into account, I’mNotBlue is a colossal retard.

Left-wing groups don’t “slander” (I love it when right-wing drama queens get all melodramatic and throw around words like slander) the military. They simply tell the truth and don’t have a sick stalker-like fetish for the institution on one hand, while right-wingers show total contempt for the military and those who serve.. That’s why Republitards are usually warmongers, and usually can’t wait to cut off benefits to veterans. The common denominator is the belief among armchair warmongers that members of the armed forces are disposable like so much Kleenex to be used and discarded.

  • damnskippy

Using the same logic as Maher, Americans also hate police officers, firemen and anyone who puts themselves into harms way in performing their job duties. Slyder, I don’t really believe you are a veteran as you say. Also, there isn’t a lot of logic to your statements. You compare conservatives, who are upset with Maher’s statements, to the COMMUNIST Chinese and Russians. Surely someone as intelligent as you profess to be should understand that communists and American conservatives/Republicans are at the opposite ends of the political spectrum. But I do agree with you that the political left, like the Communist Chinese and Russians, the Socialist Nazis and Italian fascists under Mussolini, just to name a few, are the ones, more so than the political right, who don’t like to hear to dissenters. Just look at the liberals/Democrats in America now. If you criticize the President for anything, they start calling you racist. Another example is the fact that the Democrats would love to pass a Card Check law that would do away with secret ballots in union elections – I guess we’re all supposed to have a right to privacy unless it serves the interests of the Democratic party. And slk, I’ve found that the political left is typically the side with no facts to back up their argument – they tend to argue mostly on emotion – and they are the ones who are the first to start with the name calling.

  • Fidoohki

*shrugs* Bill Maher is entitled to his opinion like anyone else. Just like I’m entitled to believe he is the Rush
limbaugh of the left..just without the fanbase. :)

BTW: Jelperman? Who was it that floated the idea of turning disabled vets healthcare to private insurers?
That’s right! OBAMA! Just an example of why you shouldn’t throw stone….

  • Ted

Did any of you critics actually watch the video. Uh…newsflash…we do treat the troops like dirt. They are grossly under-paid, under-armored and don’t get me started on the VA. Finally, its the neocon chickenhawks who see the military as a tool to further their twisted agenda. And please, no lectures on military service from any of you neocon tea-baggers.

  • Jelperman

Fidoohki, you would have a point, except I’m not a groupie for Obama. Not everyone is a cud-chewer like you.

  • TfT

Troops are not paid enough, never have been. I’m guessing Mahr was at the ANSWER rally where this sign was paraded about:

“We support our troops when they shoot their officers”.

    Pointless Errands? Please.

Palin’s flag pin???? Man, talk about coming in from left field. But in one regard, I would like to emulate Bill Maher. I too would like to sympathize with all of those poor people from my mansion in Beverly Hills. (In all fairness, Bill does visit the inner city every now and then to pick up hookers.)

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Bill-Adkins/1585417987 Bill Adkins

Our military is the best – bar none. America’s history of fightng for right is great, our victories the stuff of legend, our armed forces are of substance and unique character. My grandfather, b in 1875, fought in the Phillipines in the Spanish American War; my father and his brothers (one of whom spent 2 years in a Japanese prison) in World War II and Korea, my uncles and cousins in Vietnam. No criticism of our military. But the greatest insult to our military is to lie to them, to misuse them, to mislead them into blunders and get them killed for nothing but the stupidity of their ‘leaders.’ And I’m glad that the greatest insult to our military left office on 1/20/2009.

BTW, see the news about Afghanistan? http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSTRE61B1ZJ20100213
    Obama’s doing it right.

  • writer

Kudos to our military. And yes, Obama’s doing it right. He sent more troops into Afghanistan, and some members of the administration are admitting that the surge in Iraq worked. A side bar to Bill Maher. Right after 9/11, when you said “we’re the cowards”, hope your comedic timing has improved.

Wow, you’ve gotten really cranky. I hope in the interim you took a nap.

Maher said we treat our military unfairly. I agreed and pointed out some examples. I pointed out that Jelp was correct, although as such a staunch ideologue, probably didn’t quite understand why.

You got mad because… we’ll, you’re bored and are out for anger, not logic or debate.

I hope you get that nap, friend. I’m sure you’re better when rested.

    Jelperman says:

So are you denying that Murtha slandered the troops?

Are you denying that Code Pink did this, and labeled the military recruiters “unwelcome intruders?”

I guess those things didn’t happen… good thing, or it would make your knowledge of the situation seem laughable.

  • slk

I’m Not Blue, no one got mad, dollface. Its just fun to bat you around. And getting increasingly easy.

And nice pivot with your characterization of the exchange between you and Jelp–but you actually DIDN’T point out examples,

Here’s what you said: “Come on guys… this is Jelperman’s closest step towards honesty and the truth in a while! Let’s give him some support!”

    Wow. What a guy.

Snark tone then shifting to attack Code Pink and left wing bloggers. At no point do you state you agree with Maher and give examples, as you state now–which I suspect is because you’re getting called on your shit and now you’re trying to backtrack. Which doesn’t surprise me.

ImNotBlue says: “You got mad because… we’ll, you’re bored and are out for anger, not logic or debate.”

Kettle, meet pot. And I’m out for diversion and fun. I have to thank you for providing it….hee.

  • DEO

BUT Mahar is right! We DO treat the troops like shit. They come home and can’t even get adequate shrink care…it’s shameful. I am glad Mahar had the guts to call us out.

  • timzank

What’s really telling is that anyone really pays attention to Maher. Talk about a worthless piece of humanity, look for him to expire sometime soon from a fatal interaction of cocaine & viagra in the grotto while trying to out-do Hef for “creepiest old dude in the pool”.

  • Jelperman

So are you denying that Murtha slandered the troops?

    Yep.

When more than a dozen unarmed civilians are found massacred, including small children shot at point-blank range in their own homes, and the Marines involved make up some bullshit story about their deaths being the result of a roadside bomb that went off a block away, it was cold-blooded murder. That’s why one of the men involved, Sergeant Sanick Dela Cruz, fessed up and testified against the others.

You must also think Hugh Thompson “slandered” the brave boys at My Lai, right?

  • writer

Maher, if the troops are being treated badly, it’s your guy in the White House now. Tell him about it.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Bill-Adkins/1585417987 Bill Adkins

No, he thinks Hugh Thompson is a traitor who betrayed those ‘brave boys’ at My Lai.

At no point do you state you agree with Maher and give examples, as you state now–which I suspect is because you’re getting called on your sh*t and now you’re trying to backtrack.

BUZZZZZZ… wrong-o. Please read above, and send you apologies in a future post.

Kettle, meet pot. And I’m out for diversion and fun. I have to thank you for providing it….hee.

So you get your kicks by yelling anonymously on media blogs? Yikes… sounds like someone needs to up their dosage.

    Jelperman says:
    February 14, 2010 at 2:06 pm

So even though the soldiers weren’t found guilty… even though Murtha spoke before all the evidence was out… and even though it is agreed that he made a mistake and slandered the troops… you’ll continue believing what you want to believe. You’ll take the side AGAINST the troops, and AGAINST the evidence, because it fits your spin against the military.

Hmm… I mentioned bloggers who treat the military unfairly, and always expect the worst from them… I guess you fill that out nicely. Thanks for the agreement.

  • writer

Bill Maher, friend to the troops and patriot. I’m sorry, I just can’t keep a straight face when saying that.

  • Jelperman

I realize this is going to burst your bubble and sully your little fetish for the armed forces, but the military (like any other institution) tends to cover up its own atrocities. No one went to prison for the My Lai or the Son Thang massacres, either. That doesn’t mean they didn’t happen.

While it’s true the defendants did beat the rap and under our system of due process, cannot be punished by the state for their role in the killing, it doesn’t mean they should be immune from people calling a spade a spade. If that’s the case, then O.J. Simpson deserves BILLIONS of apologies since he was also found not guilty.

By the way, how is it being “AGAINST the troops” to talk about the Haditha Massacre when the Marine Corps brought the charges and were Murtha’s source of information? Are the Marines as an institution part of a conspiracy to smear…

    …the Marines?

One more thing: Slander is a false, defamatory statement made about another person. What Murtha said was the truth. Better luck next time.

  • timzank

Sorry Jelperman, what Murtha said was slanderous. He stated our troops killed innocent unarmed civilians in cold blood. He had no proof of that, ergo, what he said was false, ergo it was slanderous according toy YOUR definition shown above.

    Wanna play again?

  • Jelperman

    No proof?

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vSTySN2cHyM

    You lying twerp.

  • damnskippy

In war, innocents will invariably get killed. It’s a tragedy, but a fact of life. Our military goes to lengths (in both their tactical/strategic approach to battle and the monetary cost of the weapons we use) never before attempted to try and minimize civilian casualties. Our rules of engagement are extremely restrictive. This is while the enemy uses civilians as human shields and attacks from mosques. Personally I believe that most liberals, including Bill Maher, could care less about our soldiers, they just want to use them as a political tool to attack the political right. In fact, wasn’t it Congressman Murtha, the Democrat and liberal standard bearer, who wanted to utilize the “slow bleed” approach to the Iraq War. He wanted to delay the funding/resupply of our troops thereby ensuring greater American casualties which would result in our defeat and withdrawal. Now how does that show love for our fighting men and women? When I heard Murtha was dead, I was almost happy…almost!

  • writer

damnskippy, you are correct. Maher doesn’t give a damn about the troops. If anything, he despises them. It’s just another excuse for him to bash the country that’s helped provide him with his Beverly Hills digs.

  • pyrope

Herein I agree with Maher–our troops indeed deserve more from our government, but we must recall that VA hospitals are run by…the government–the same government who would run (‘ruin’) healthcare if socialized medicine became a reality.

As for Maher, he is pretty much a gutless little weasel of a cheap shot artist.

  • ImNotBlue

    Jelperman says:
    February 14, 2010 at 3:24 pm

By the way, how is it being “AGAINST the troops” to talk about the Haditha Massacre…

Because you attempt to establish their guilt, despite the evidence, and despite the actual trial. Your statement suggests you think you’re better than the American justice system… and know more than the people who were actually there. You attack them unfairly, give the enemy the benefit of the doubt, and thusly slander the military. Murtha, sad to say, did the same thing… blamed them before the evidence was out, and once the judicial system had done its work, refused to correct the record.

One more thing: Slander is a false, defamatory statement made about another person. What Murtha said was the truth.

Well… no, apparently it wasn’t. If it was, they wouldn’t have “beaten the wrap,” now would they? When you say “truth,” what you mean is, “What I believe.” There’s a difference.

    Jelperman says:
    February 14, 2010 at 5:04 pm

Why do you trust their word, over the word of the military? Doesn’t that say something about how you see the members of the armed forces?

  • Jelperman

O.J. Simpson walked. I guess he didn’t kill anyone. Neither did all those Klansmen who were acquitted for murders they committed.

  • ImNotBlue

    Jelperman says:

Ironic, isn’t it? When it comes to certain things, the American justice system is bad and wrong… and only Jelp knows what’s right.

Of course, when it comes to putting terrorists in said system… Jelp stands and claps. I wonder why?

  • Jelperman

So you think OJ was innocent. Nice.

  • ImNotBlue

    Jelperman says:
    February 15, 2010 at 12:43 am

In the eyes of the law, yes he was innocent. Personally, I think he did it… but I also recognize I’m not the law. I suppose that’s the difference. I state I disagree, but respect the decision of the court… you simply think you’re better than all, and have respect for none but yourself and those who agree with you.

It’s not shocking that the American military isn’t on your “respect” list. But it does prove my point, now doesn’t it?

  • shootfromthehip

Once again, Bill Maher speaks the truth.
