Chyron of the Day: 7/23/09
Fox News, 9:53amET:

This is the kind of chyron with a backstory. For those who didn’t catch it yesterday, or aren’t on Twitter, here’s what you see: The governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger, holding an enormous knife. Then the lower third has the news he’s telling his “Twitter critics” to “take a joke.” What?
Here’s the deal: the Governator tweeted a video to his 700,000+ followers about the budget, that he began by wielding a massive knife. Because he’s cutting the budget. See, it’s acting, because he’s a movie star.
Some people thought it was in poor taste so he apologized (as only Schwarzenegger can). “You sent a governor to Sacramento – not El Stiffo, like some in the past were.”
Well, residents of California – this is your governor.
