CNN’s Kyra Phillips Calls Charlie Sheen ‘Gaddafi’s Brother From Another Mother’

In Friday morning’s “Today’s Talker” segment, CNN anchor Kyra Phillips takes a look at the recent speeches of Muammar Gaddafi, complete with plenty of forced alliteration (“his rambling ridiculous rantings”) and then she switches gears…to talk about Charlie Sheen, the sitcom megastar turned car wreck personified. The segue? “Just when you thought it couldn’t get any nuttier than the Colonel, Sheen happens. Charlie Sheen.” If this already has you feeling uncomfortable, wait until you hear Phillips’ conclusion: “I’m telling you, Sheen is Gaddafi’s brother from another mother.”

Phillips begins the segment by asking, “if we gave out ‘Wacko of the Week’ awards, Gaddafi would get it, right?” Perhaps the better question is why would you even base a segment on the desperately flimsy concept of who’s more of a wacko, Sheen, or Gaddafi? How about accepting that Gaddafi’s a deadly dangerous dictator and that’s far from funny. And Charlie Sheen’s a guy who’s so deep into his own self destruction he’s lost sight of reality. Using either–or both–as fodder for a lighthearted segment seems somewhat offensive. But hey, maybe I’m just wacko?

Oh, Kyra. That doesn’t even make sense.

Although, I thought the segue comment was chuckle-worthy; she should have left it there. But she’s clearly mocking Sheen; it’s a stretch to say she’s making light of the carnage in Libya. Maybe mocking Sheen is insensitive–but offensive? If you can still drum up any sympathy for that guy, you’re a better man than I am.

It’s flattering to have my stuff stolen by a “Corrupt B-tard” at the c(lowns)n(itwits and socialist)n(attering nabobs) network.

For those that didn’t see my earlier comments:

Operators are standing by, so VOTE NOW:

Gadhafi vs. charlie sheen — which one of these despicable, depraved clowns is funnier?

Just think: if sheen overindulges on coke and hookers and gadhafi leaves his cushy ruler-for-life gig in Libya, the C(ertified)B(iased)S(ocialists) network will have an immediately replacement to star in “Two and a Half Men”. They don’t call the VD-infected and drug-crazed gadhafi the “charlie sheen of lybia” for nothing.

BTW: does anybody know if sheen is related to mel gibson? They seem to have a lot in common.

    Wow!
What a biatch-slap to Martin Sheen!

    Charlie had a mother?

Charlie shows what can happen when you are raised by totally liberal people.

Why does everyone in recent news have to be related somehow to someone else in recent news?

Ya got to “frame a narrative.”

You’re somewhat right about the Charlie Sheen thing.
Americans are obsessed with being entertained! We’ll spend hours watching the “hottest” news story. We just don’t want to think very much, most of us, and this is going to bite us one day.

Do you remember our “national obsession” on 9/11/2001? Do the names Chandra Levy & Gary Condit ring a bell? Our media was entertaining us hour after hour about this mystery. Not just Nancy Grace & Greta, but ALL the media. Then suddenly … well, you know the rest.
Now I’m waiting for something worse to jolt us back to reality. I hate feeling this way & hope I’m wrong. But two things make me consider this the short-term inevitable outcome. These two things are:
    (1) Our incredible & overwhelming lack of political leadership at the federal level.
    (2) The constant desire to be entertained instead of to serve & help others, which is brought about by the lack of federal leadership. (I’m talking about ALL presidents for 50 years)

Truth is I don’t care that much whether Charlie Sheen dies or not. His only enemy is his EGO.
I do care about EACH serviceman, EACH innocent being killed in Libya, EACH “good” teacher who is getting the shaft from his/her greedy labor union bosses, EACH family who bought a home they could afford & still got screwed by politicians (Frank & Dobbs in particular) who set up a corrupt system that could only fail at some point, EACH American who would love to give useful help to those less fortunate, but, because of our lack of leadership, just doesn’t know where to start & has nobody to “lead” them.

Just ONE good president could light a fire under this nation (the good kind of fire). No other national leader can do this, only the American President, and we’ve got one who can’t lead and doesn’t understand what made the United States so great that everyone in the world wants to come here.

I’m sure Lawrence O’Donnell will somehow find a way to call Kyra Phillips a racist.

Now, it makes sense. It’s not Shean’s fault he’s addicted to crack cocaine.
