Fox News Begins Second Quarter #2 On All Of Cable

ratings

Following up on the best quarter in network history, Fox News continued its time at the top of the ratings with a huge first week last week to begin the second quarter of 2010.

FNC was #2 on all of cable last week during prime time (behind just USA Network) – and well ahead of the cable news competition.

FNC was 2nd on cable news in prime time, with 1,963,000 viewers. MSNBC was 23rd (812,000), CNN was 31st and HLN was 34th.

In total day, FNC was 6th (1,081,000), CNN 27th (436,000), MSNBC 29th (392,000) and HLN 37th.

It won’t get close any time soon between Fox News and the rest of the cable news world – but can FNC catch USA in prime time?

    NOT A SURPRISE!

  • The Real Royal King

And, CBS, the worst performing network, has five (5) times the number of viewers as FOX “News”.

  • Moderate

MSNBC will hire Jamie McIntyre from CNN and CNN will hire Shuster. Both networks will continue to bleed viewers to fox News.

Then tell us, if it’s so insignificant, why Fox News bothers you so?

    FNC… Beck… Limbaugh… they’re all insignificant.

That’s why the President feels it necessary to mention them by name… in an “interview,” coincidently, on CBS.

Completely insignificant… that’s why the President is talking about them.

    Wait… what?

The denseness of libs like you is astonishing. You compare comparables to comparables. Look at how Nielsen breaks them out, child.

BTW, the #1 show in all ratings on broadcast and cable channels? “American Idol”- a FOX show so ya lose again.

Next time learn how ratings work before showing the world your incredible ignorance.

@TRRK: I assume you mean CBS News (excluding 60 Minutes) and not the Columbia Broadcasting System because they do, quite well.

The King has trouble understanding the difference between cable and the major networks.

  • The Real Royal King

Thanks for admitting, Righter, that FOX is a minor nework.

  • The Real Royal King

Seems like I hit a nerve.

heh-heh…..That’s great if you want to know what Snookie & The Situation are up to down in Florida; but not if you want to influence elections!

King, the article was comparing CABLE networks. CBS isn’t cable, despite your continuous apples and oranges comparisons. And if Fox is a minor network, MSNBC must be a micro network.

  • pyrope

It’s not much wonder that CBS, NBC, and ABC have more viewers than FOX, most prisons, housing projects, and assylums do not have cable TV.
