Joe Scarborough: If I Raise An Eyebrow, I Get Headlines Saying ‘Joe Takes A Knife And Slashes Mika.’

Did GOP presidential hopeful Mitt Romney — not one to have been particularly surprising or controversial during this election’s many debates — hurt his chances during last night’s performance in South Carolina? That’s precisely what the Morning Joe crew wanted to figure out Tuesday morning. And, more importantly for our country, are Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough ok?

The two co-hosts entered into a tiff this morning after Scarborough noted that they “have a little fun back-and-forth,” only to have Brzezinski note that it was “just back.” “Never fight in the front of the kids!” said a panelist.

Guest Peggy Noonan then gave her two cents on South Carolina, opining that Newt Gingrich performed very well at last night’s debate, but that, ultimately, it won’t matter because the election will go to Romney. The key to a good debate performance, the panel agreed, was being able to speak directly to and “level with” the American people.

“So Mika,” said Scarborough. “these days, the Huffington Post, if I raise an eyebrow, they have headlines that say ‘Joe Takes a Knife and Slashes Mika.’ Do I owe you an apology?”

Brzezinski toyed with the idea.

“Because I don’t think I do,” Scarborough added.

Joe doesn’t want to just talk about the headlines, he wants to be in them

No….the truth is if Mediaite didn’t run features on your show Joe, no one would know who you and that lady are. Shameless plugs by former MSNBC employee Dan Abrams

Yeah be gentle with her you joker, can’t you see that she’s so lovely.

    Joe’s “apology” reminded me of Fonzie’s “i was wrrrrrr…ng” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WkqgDoo_eZE

    Joe who?

  • The Real Royal Emperor

Far from true. MJ has acceptable morning ratings, and it has a very influential viewership. Real power brokers. What is talked about on MJ resonates in the corridors of power all day. True, F&F may score more viewers over-all, in the very small cable “news” market, but that is mostly to see Il Douchey’s eyes glaze over like a pecan pie just before it’s done, or to see O’Van Karlsen squint and grimace when she’s trying to think, or to find out if the Guy with the Kurly Black Hair punctures an ear drum with the pencil he’s sticking in his ear.

Obama had BOTH houses of Congress and the Presidency for three years and we did not make acceptable progress with jobs or the economy.  This after the One saying we would (jobless less than 8%???, Recovery Summer???) to get what he wanted.  Now its a shell game by them to stir up race and class warefare issues to get the voters to forget this fact, and the mainstream media is there to help.

    Three years?

Correction noted, thank you.  2 years, 1 year with 2 of the 3…. same points, though.  Any thoughts on that?

Is there a  more stale joke than this?

dont bother with Mark – he writes comments about a show that he’s obsessed with…then says no one’s watchin him

Meeker needs to tread lightly. She can be replaced easily, with Meghan McCain waiting stage right, except it’s like, too totally early !

Focused too much on healthcare when he had all three houses.

Not even 2 years – more like six months, of which 2 were eaten up in summer recess & 2 more abandoned to electioneering, with the lameduck session also being abandoned. So – maybe a month?

Surely you remember that the Senate operates off it’s stupid supermajority filibuster-substitution rule, & that the GOP had that weirdo Norm Coleman drag out the appeal from the Minnesota recount effectively into the fall of 2009, & that the Dems blew the Massachusetts byelection when Ted Kennedy died, & that the White House not entirely unreasonably suckered itself into not using reconciliation to get the ACA on to Obama’s desk preferring to wait for the supermajority to be restored?

If you really want to see the true picture, go back to the record of the 111th Congress & just look at how many really important, useful & frankly critical bills got passed in the House & then sent up to the Senate, only to die in committee as McConnell et al screwed around with the rules & with anonymous holds & played the delay game until the illusion of the Tea Party Revolution worked its messy magic.

The Real Royal Emperor is also obsessed with shows he ” doesn’t” watch . In fact , he goes so far as to make up names for the people he doesn’t watch on the shows he doesn’t watch on the network he doesn’t watch.

Joe will browbeat a dead horse.    End of story.

I think that is what Scarborough is interested in….any headline for anything….I like the format of the show, but I don’t think many people really like Joey…they tolerate him…He is definitely rude and obnoxious, and condesending to Mika, but he is like that with most women on the show….He is one of those guys that need to show his manhood and ego…and you know what that tells you about them…..lol

Doucheborough is the last person in the world who should joke about killing a woman!

Joe doesn’t use knives.  He prefers to smash heads against a desk….

    Google “Lori Klausutis”

One month?  Why not just pretend the first term never existed altogether and he is running for the first time, which is exactly how his speeches sound.  He is dodging more responsibility than that captain of the cruise ship run aground.

Recall that Joe is an Evangelical Rat-Wing trooper.

A knife? Hmm… is that how Scarbourough killed Lori Klausutis THE WOMAN FOUND DEAD IN HIS OFFICE!!!

Peggy Noonon can keep her two cents.  She always looks like she’s smelling something bad.  Joe Scarborough is a typical model of what you don’t want your son to be.  I don’t know how this “I” person became an elected official.  He’s too stuck on himself.  When you listen to Joe, all you can hear is “I…I…I…I…”.  Ugh.  Didn’t watch this morning..,turned it off.
