Joe The Plumber Returns To The Airwaves With Some Doozies

“You’re not a celebrity,” the always outspoken Joy Behar said midway through her HLN interview with Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher, aka Joe the Plumber. That may be so, but “grass-roots activist” Wurzelbacher’s fifteen minutes haven’t run out yet.
He was back and at it again on Behar’s program on HLN last night, dishing out on the Republican Party, homosexuality, and the Tea Party movement.
Wurzelbacher was ostensibly on the show to stump for the Tea Party movement, but he had some choice words for the Republican Party. “I’m pretty much an enemy against the GOP,” he declared, saying “the Republican Party has lost its way.” Behar agreed.
She did not agree with his stance on homosexuality, however, pulling up this interview he gave with Christianity Today:
I personally still think it’s wrong. People don’t understand the dictionary—it’s called queer. Queer means strange and unusual. It’s not like a slur, like you would call a white person a honky or something like that. You know, God is pretty explicit in what we’re supposed to do—what man and woman are for.
He also said that he would not let homosexuals anywhere near his children and that homosexuality was “a choice.” Definitely not the positions to take when you’re up against a host like Behar, who doesn’t hold back her disapproval. She lectured an uncomfortable-looking Wurzelbacher on the psychological roots of pedophilia and the difference between gays and pedophiles, and picked his position apart.
Overall, Behar was friendly, but she didn’t hold back on her opinion that Wurzelbacher was a media sideshow rather than a legitimate pundit — which made one wonder what exactly he was doing on her show. In her tweet about his appearance the previous night, she took a little dig at her guest, writing “Joe the Plumber–remember him? He’s back and I’ll be talking to him tonight at 9.” On-air, she dismissed his claims that he didn’t search for celebrity, and even went so far as to ask him, “Do you identify with the balloon boy’s father at this point?” Joe the Plumber said no, he did not.

What exactly is a “legitimate pundit?” Is Behar one? How does one acquire pundit legitimacy? Does Columbia have a J-school program for pundits?
I am not taking the plumber’s side here, but unless Behar is the new Priestess of Pundits, I don’t see how she gets to question anyone’s credentials as a pundit. As I recall she went from comedienne (very funny one, too) to View sideshow commentator to HLN talk show host. Based on that, pretty much everyone is a pundit.
On the flip side, “Joe” grasped onto his 15 minutes of fame and has managed to keep it going for a long, long time. And, based on the lack of quality or integrity among recognized cable pundits – yes, I mean you Beck and you too Olbermann along with the rest of the cowardly yikkity yak brigade – Joe qualifies. He is a loudmouth, has no experience in the real world of politics or government, takes his opinions right off an index card and will do or say anything to get camera time.
You know the media – ALL of the media – is a waste when the comedienne turned yakkity mouth pundit challenges the plumber turned yakkity mouth pundit.
This is the Funniest Show Ever!!!! It’s just too bad Joy doesn’t realize it. Apparently after her run in with AnnC she had to take her repressed anger out on Joe the Plumber. I guess the easiest way to keep us Stupid Little People in line is to trot us out & humiliate us in front of the Liberal Crowd. who’s the bully now?
As a Republican, and a fairly conservative person, I just want to say:
Oh, God! No!!!
Please, Joe the Plumber — GO AWAY!
You are an embarrasing waste of time!
And take Carrie Prejean with you.
Thank you.
Joy admitted on The View not too long ago that she does not really care about the guests on The View, she just wants to make ‘good TV’. I can only assume that her main goal is to just make ‘good TV’ with this new show of hers.
Joy Behar reminds me of George Costanza’s mother on ‘Seinfeld’, just screeching and shrieking.
Keith Olbermann, Jon Stewart Fail to Eviscerate Sarah Palin

Hyperbole must be over. How else does one explain the extremely disappointing bits that Jon Stewart and Keith Olbermann did on Sarah Palin last night? Handed (thank you, I'm here all week) 3 days of Palin material that rivaled anything George W. Bush ever gave them, Olbermann could barely manage a molecule of spittle, let alone a lather, and Stewart deployed his seldom-used Nerf™ jokes.
O’Reilly: “Some Of These Tea Party People Are Nuts . . . They’re Crazy”
The National Tea Party convention was held this weekend in Nashville, Tennessee, and has, predictably, been a hot topic on cable news. Tonight Bill O'Reilly took his turn, discussing the third party phenomenon/movement with Fox News pundit Brit Hume and offered a frank and candid assessment on some of the participants of the Tea Party movement. "Some of these tea party people are nuts! They are! They're crazy!" Video after the jump.
