Newt Gingrich Again Scolds Debate Moderator Over Choice Of Question

video

In a reprise of his dressing-down of Fox News’ Chris Wallace at last month’s Republican Debate, polling blip Newt Gingrich scolded Politico’s John Harris Wednesday night over his choice of questions at the NBC/Politico debate. Asked to weigh in on the “genuine philosphical difference” between Rick Perry and Mitt Romney over the individual health care mandate, Gingrich responded by (I’m not kidding) scolding Harris for “trying to get Republicans to fight with each other.”

Yes, why does the evil media want people at a debate to disagree?

Gingrich seems to be the debate “medic” tonight, rushing in to repair the damage the other candidates do to each other by pumping them up, and tearing President Obama down. His response to Harris got huge applause from the audience, as he segued from scolding the moderator (and that evil lamestream media) to explaining that every candidate on the stage would be better than Obama, a sentiment he snuck into an earlier answer, as well. Maybe Newt is bucking for the bottom of a ticket, anyone‘s ticket?

Here’s the clip, from MSNBC:

That was awesome Newt. Called them out, deservedly so.

Harris is an embarrassment. A liberal hack

If only Newt could win, he’s hitting it out of the park.

    Sigh…

Couldn’t agree more! I love Newt!

Go, Newt. Slap those dorky moderators down & keep ‘em in their place. They aren’t there to debate, just to keep time.

Last time ,the Dems refused to go on Fox .

The Republicans were willing to go in and deal with the sons of bitches on MSNBC .

  • Re-Elect Obama 2012

All the candidates on the stage clearly have as an objective tonight to take Rick Perry down a notch, but somehow John Martin  is the one responsible “trying to get Republicans to fight with each other”.

Same old dishonest tune being sung.

Bowing Brian asking republicans questions is quite humorous; he is trying to be the star of th enight; every question has a lead in position of his own prefacing his question.  What an arrogant limosine liberal he is.  I bet he didn’t bow to these candidates, now did he?

  • Anonymous

If it begins with a who, what, why, when, where, or how, it isn’t fair.

  • Just some Blow Hard…

Um isn’t this the POINT of a debate??  Its not much of a debate if they just give campaign slogans then call it a night.  They ALL can’t get the nomination.  This is the game, this is how its played, its been played since the beginning of this republic.

By the way, is it ok for the dems to in fight?  Wasn’t there a large push by republicans to vote in dem primaries to cause THE EXACT SAME THING as Newt is now railing against?  Operation chaos I think? (Project Mayhem was trademarked)  Oh wait.. its ok if its not your side.

    We need third parties…

  • qwerty

when republicans look to the future, they see newt

  • Newtypatootie

Newt who polling at .01% would rather call Obama’s healthcare plan bad and scream about how he thinks the media is trying to pick a fight rather than answer how he would help 48 million americans without health insurance actually get health insurance. Maybe we can all get revolving charge accounts at health insurance companies.

That’s just Noot’s schtick.  That’s the only way he’ll get an article on Mediaite without spending a million dollars on jewelry for his 4th and 5th wives.

  • Re-Elect Obama 2012

No, because we know the facts:

    1. Reagan gave amnesty to 3 million undocumented immigrants.
    2.  Reagan nearly tripled the federal budget deficit.
    3. Reagan vetoed a comprehensive anti-Apartheid act
    4. Reagan “raised taxes in seven of his eight years in office,” including four times in just two years.

  • Anonymous

I think this is getting old as a strategy. Everyone else gave an answer of if they agree with individual nmandate or not, but he attacks the modertaor, again. I learned more about Santorum and Cain tonight simply because they answered questions clearly than Newt!

  • RickPerrysHair

Uh oh don’t make Newt angry. He’ll cut you off his Tiffany Christmas list and then go have another affair just to get back at you.

Why? Reagan would be a liberal today compared with these candidates. Nancy is for stem cell research and Reagans own kids are Liberals.

Sad part of this is if Gingrich didn’t have so much lousy baggage he would absolutely wipe the floor with Obama in a one on one debate. As far as him being on the bottom of the ticket I’d take him over the human gaffe machine Biden in a second.

A lot of it was a joke. The moderators sucked. They wanted a two man race. Pretty poor. The questioning was crap. Newt was right and we  got what we expected from this crowd. That jackass with his immigration questions was most annoying. Typical La raza radical. Huntsman, Romney, and Perry reminded me of Tim Pawlenty.  Tim bailed and went right to msnbc. They’re figgin rinos. Even Newt.

  • Just some Blow Hard…

Did the crowd just applaud executions?

You know back in the dark ages, they had public executions.  The crowd would gather around and cheer.  They would consider it an honor if they were sprayed with blood.  The Romans (who excelled at executions) CREATED CRUCIFIXION for the sole purpose of having people displayed and mocked.  The Tower of London, up until the 1700′s would display the heads of enemies of the state. Iran, Syria, and Saudi Arabia still have public stoning and executions.

Do we really want to emulate those???

There is more truth in this than fiction…

  • Stoogedude

Yeah, this isn’t a GOP town hall. The definition of debate is to “fight it out”, so to speak. If they all agreed on everything and praised each other and gave the same talking points, what the hell would be the point of the debate?

I thought Jon Huntsman did good. Too bad he’s not going to get the nomination. Instead, a far-right winger like Perry will and then he’ll win the election. That’s right. I’m going to stick my nose out and declare Rick Perry the next President. I’m that pessimistic.

    God help us all.

funny because none of your leading candidates are for stem cell research. And if they are they are just going with the flow. Because Bush was dead wrong on that issue.  And because Reagan had a clever comment on what a liberal is doesn’t make him a conservative. He was more liberal on most issues than any of these guys with maybe the exception of Huntsman.

  • Republicans are Liars

Listen idiot, you are for what is in it for you. You could care less about anyone but you. YOu are self-centered egotist. So here is my little “prayer” for you. I hope your children can’t get insurance because of a preexisting condition. I hope you are without a job and they stop giving out unemployment. I hope you are driving down a road and your car hits a pot hole and you bust an axle. I hope they abolish the EPA and someone poisons your water. I hope you get to retirement age and they take your social security away. No buddy what you are is a free loader. You want a great country but you are not willing to pay for it.

I know you may call me dumb conservatives. But do any of you really understand these health care ideas any of these guys came up with? No wonder we have so many uninsured when citizens on both the left and right. Talk healthcare my eyes and I suspect the most americans eyes gloss over and close in pain. One thing I did like and I cant stand Bachman but at least she was realistic. All this executive order stuff regarding Obamas healthcare law cant just be wiped out with a swipe of a pen. If they really want to do it they are gonna have a long hard messy slog through a congress and a bureaucracy that is gearing up to pass these regulations and laws. In my view it aint gonna happen.

I think she said Obamacare 12 times when answering every question even if it didn’t have any thing to do with healthcare.

    1. We have great insurance that I pay for personally, won’t lose the house
    2. Both kids have stable jobs with insurance, no preexisting conditions
    3. I’m self-employed and could not get unemployment even if I wanted to.
    4. I’m a very careful driver.
    5. I have a well so my water won’t get “poisoned by someone.” They wouldn’t get past the dogs and would not be able to dodge the bullets.
    6. I have my own retirement set up, won’t need SS.

Me a freeloader? We can both just make up numbers here, I’ll bet I pay more in taxes yearly than you make. I pay for numerous freeloaders, I’m sure you are one. A simple thank you would be nice. You are welcome.

Let’s not forget that as of now the individual mandate has been ruled unconstitutional..  It is likely that the Supreme Court will uphold that ruling as it is still considered to lean to the right…  if only just a little.

  • insideguy

Well I think you are thinking in what you consider a logical way. But the supreme court is subject to outside pressure as much as politicians are. When parents start calling in to washington and complaining that they cant keep little johnny on their healthcare plans till they are 26 or whatever it is anymore, the politicians will cave. These guys aren’t gonna overturn Obamcare, the same way Obama wasn’t going to close down Gitmo. Once a government program gets put in place it doesn’t go anywhere.

I don’t hate you dude, I hate what you believe. I hate who you vote into office and policies they espouse. I’d be happy to compare tax returns with you any day. Been running my own multi-million dollar company fro 10 years so don’t pull that crap with me. I’m sure you are fine. I was wishing those things  would happen to you becasue until they do and you are put into that position you will never know the inherint problems real people have. You and I are the lucky ones. Why is the gap between rich and poor the highest it has ever been? Because of Republican economic policies. Liberals are people that want real answers to complex problems. We don’t want fairy tales. We know that the key to bringing this economy back is to invest inthe economy. If the corporations aren’t spending the money then tax the corporations and individuals and have the government spend it. Big government is good government every day of the week. Demand creates jobs. If there is no demand, there will be no jobs. If they cut my taxes I will put the money in my pocket until my product’s demand is so great that my current staff can’t handle it. EVERYONE IS THIS WAY. The threat of taxes as a deternet to job creation is the biggest republican lie of them all.

That wasn’t my point.  As much as the dem base wanted Dean to win the nomination, he was deemed unelectable in the general election.   Thus Kerry was nominated.  This will happen again.  The best thing to happen to Romney is the fact that Perry got in the race.

Yes as in all states, but you had to make the decision to purchase your car or get your drivers license and in so doing accepted the responsibility of having to purchase auto insurance, not the same as healthcare. Time will tell what becomes of healthcare, but i disagree with what you are saying about the courts.  I see nothing in the constitution that provides for a personal mandate, not even the commerce clause.

You’re an idiot and hopefully the pot hole turns into a sink hole and you’re swimming in it.  Who the hell wants Ron Paul, besides you jerks.

I hope you grow the hell up and realize that we are paying for it.  Someone points out the fact that if things don’t change there won’t be social security and you go bat shit instead of saying, yes things have to change.

Who the hell do you think is going to be paying medical for the 14 million illegals fool?  You think they are going to line and and pay?  We would still be paying for them and every other deadbeat that refuses to pay until they are in need.  So, suddenly they have a $10,000 bill and they haven’t put a cent in the kitty – guess what bright wonder, all our rates have to go up.

You think all these freaking programs are gifts.  We pay through the nose for all of them.  Waste and fraud abound and the costs keep going up and you’re fine with that.

Get a job and quit looking for someone else to cover your ass.  Cover it yourself.

You can chose not to drive, it is kinda hard to chose not to breath. Besides the state mandate to purchase auto insurance is just that, a state mandate and states can empower themselves to do more constitutionally than can the federal government because of the 10th amendment.  There is no authority in the constitution for the mandate, but there is nothing in the constitution to prohibit a state from imposing such a mandate.

costs did not go down – they went up.

bankruptcies due to medical bills also increased.  Premiums so high that people just buy the basics and have to pay the rest out of pocket and this little tidbit you might find interesting:

During the week of April 5, 2010, the Boston Globe reported that more than a thousand people in Massachusetts had “gamed” the mandate/penalty provision of the law since implementation by choosing to be insured only a few months a year, typically when in need of a specific medical procedure. On the average, the Globe reported, these part-time enrolees were paying $1200–$1600 in premiums over a few months and receiving $10,000 or more in healthcare services before again dropping coverage.[41]

  • Anonymous

    lower cost……please cite with proof

  • Just some Blow Hard…

You see how the law works is that if the Supreme Court says the Federal government can’t do something, then the rule applies to the states and so on. That’s why states cannot rule against the bill of rights, outlaw abortion, or limit campaign contributions by corporations. That’s why people want a constitutional amendment defining marriage. If the DOMA is ruled unconstitutional, every state that has banned it, will be over turned.

If the mandate is proven to be unconstitutional, then the mandate for car insurance will be challenged and probably be ruled unconstitutional.

But the issue isn’t weather or not I choose to drive, The issue is the government forcing you to buy something from a private company. This isn’t a tax or a collection (ala medicare or social security), this is a law forcing you to buy something. Look at it this way. If you own a home, the government cannot force you to use landscaping crews. They can tell you that you have to keep it clean or what not, but they cannot force you to use private companies to take care of your lawn.

gar1956 if it gets overturned then you win,I truly don’t care either way. But from my experience and in my lifetime once things get put into place in government they tend to stay there. My main beef was that these idiot candidates talk like they are going to sign some kind of document their first day in office and all will be solved. They are dumbing down a complicated issue which I dislike.

Before Obama named Jon Huntsman the ambassador to China, I liked the “mythology” of the man. Having a great deal of admiration for his father, I assumed the son would be of the same sterling character. I haven’t liked the tactics of his campaign, but was willing to see what the man had to say. After tonight, it is obvious to me that he is not the man his father is and is a part of the elitist establishment, no matter how he tries to portray himself as “a lone dirt biker, taking risks and riding the solitary terrain of Utah.” He needs to change his party affiliation, since he’s far more in the mold of Obama.

    You said;

You see how the law works is that if the Supreme Court says the Federal government can’t do something, then the rule applies to the states and so on. That’s why states cannot rule against the bill of rights, outlaw abortion, or limit campaign contributions by corporations.

You are only partially correct in what you are saying.  Federal law and the federal constitution supercede state law, but in the absence of federal law the states are not restricted unless specifically restricted by the US constitution, the federal government gains all of its power from the constitution, if it writes laws that the constitution does not grant it authority to write then they will be ruled as unconstitutional by the courts.  States on the other hand are not to be restricted by the federal government as long as long as their laws do not interfere with federal law or are otherwise prohibited by the constitution.

    10th Amendment reads

“The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”

Granting the states powers that the federal government does not have..  The states can do things that the federal government cannot do…  but you would have a hard time convincing many progressives of that fact, even though it is clearly stated in the 10th amendment.

The only idiot is you.  I haven’t paid rent in over 30 years.  I don’t have a mortgage  on my homes so the downturn in housing I can weather, so next put down fool.

I no longer have “employees” except my cleaning lady, pool guy and yard guy.  Pay them – and yes, they are all legal.

If I was a “deadbeat” like you claim, wouldn’t I be wanting every freebie the government offered?  I’m always amazed at some of the deadbeats who can’t tie their shoe laces but know exactly how to play and beat the system.

So you can’t have it both ways – If I was unemployed, lazy and couldn’t meet rent, you can be damn sure I’d be voting democrat.  Why would I want the gravy train to stop?

  • insideguy

But you are discounting a hard reality here. I will give you an example. There is no federal law stating the the drinking age has to be 21. In fact a state could lower this age if they wish. And some held out for a long period of time. But they all caved. Why? Because the federal govt has tons and tons of power and pressured these states to do so. They did it by cutting off funds to these states and basically blackmailed them into caving. Once this Federal Money starts flowing into these states for healthcare the states are going to love it and wont be able to resist it. The people in the states will put pressure on there governors to keep it and in turn these politicians will put pressure on washington to keep it.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_NWVKX2P2QBPQ6FHQHCHVIC2ALQ Fedup in Florida

Yes, IMO they would be on more solid ground, when Obamacare first rolled out the president was very specific that it was not a tax.  Later in Florida courts the attorneys tried to argue that it was indeed a tax, but the way it is being implimented does not stand up to it being a tax.  Social Security and Medicare are based on a percentage of your earnings and you pay those taxes directly to the federal government, healthcare you are required to purchase directly from a private insurer, the argument did not hold..  But yes, I think that had it been a tax it would have better standing in the courts, but then you would have single payer which for whatever reason they did not feel that they could pass it that time.

  • Just some Blow Hard…

You just made my point there.  Yes, states have powers not given to the federal government in absence of federal law.  However, with it being ruled unconstitutional by the supreme court, it just BECAME federal law.  Thus the states must follow.

Its a law conundrum and not alone this century.  Remember a few years ago when the SCOUS ruled in the file sharing case?  They said, that even if not intended, companies are now liable if their product is used for illegal activity.  Thus napster could be sued even if their program was only written for sharing open source files.  So where does this leave gun or ammo companies?  Does this mean a family can sue Winchester if a family member is killed by a Winchester gun?  Winchester did not intend foir a gun to be used in a illegal act, but that ruling now says they are liable.  This doesn’t supersede the second amendment.  No one is saying you can’t have a gun.   Is that a valid legal argument?

Bush was for adult stem cell.  Why do you insist on fabricating a lie?

as for embryonic stem cell government research, he vetoed that.

Despite public perceptions, embryonic stem cell research was legal in the U.S. during the Bush administration: the President had banned the use of federal funds for research. He did not ban private and state research funding, much of which was being conducted by pharmaceutical mega-corporations.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_NWVKX2P2QBPQ6FHQHCHVIC2ALQ Fedup in Florida

Yes, this is why I like talking to you, you are well thought out and pramatic…  I agree with you about the federal government using funding to bend state governments to its will, and this has been very effective in the past.  We have recently seen however a new breed of governor that is pretty much telling the federal government to take a hike, we have seen it with some of the stimulus and we are also seeing it with medicad funding. I cannot name all the states but just off the top of my head it seems that Texas, Florida, South Carolina, New Jersy, Ohio, and possibly Wisconsin have turned away federal funding in the last 2 years, I think I am right about these states and I think that there are probably more, I do not have research infront of me so I can’t say that I am completely sure about the states that I have named.

You are also making a big assumption that president Obama will win re-election, this is another area where you and I disagree, if our economy does not improve over the next 12 months he will not have a second term, and with a republican president the challange in the supreme court will not be fought with the same conviction for healthcare as it will be by an Obama administration.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_NWVKX2P2QBPQ6FHQHCHVIC2ALQ Fedup in Florida

I disagree, if the law is struck down by the supreme court it will be because the federal government does not have the authority to compel citizens to purchase insurance.  Nowhere does the constitution grant such authority to the federal government so for the federal government to do so it would do so without constitutional authority making the law unconstitutional.  The federal government is one of limited powers our constitution was written that way.  The federal constitution does not specifically prohibit such a mandate so the states can do so, an example of this is the healthcare law that Romney passed in Massachusetts which does have a purchase mandate and is not being challanged in the courts as it is not deemed to be unconstitutional.

I can’t answer your question about the guns and bulletts, given the file sharing case you raise some good points and I am sure that we will see more and more challanges to gun rights along the avenue that you have suggested, I think that we have already seen similar cases and we will see more, the courts I do not think have been as clear on gun or ammunition liability as they were with file sharing.

  • insideguy

Oh I agree with you Blow. I think we all discount the real power of the feds sometimes though. The real power comes from special interests groups who influence our politicians with money and lobbying ( AKA MAD in this instance with the drinking age). Fed up brings up good points below and he’s right there is really no telling if Obama gets reelected. The democrats and republicans are very vulnerable  to this type of lobbying and money. If a new president gets in and republicans can show that less of the citizens are insured than before Obama care they have a chance. But they are going to have to show that and I don’t think they will be able to. Then the supreme court will have to overturn this  healthcare bill which is already in motion as we speak, then the republicans are going to have to come up with another plan to try and make people happy. All the while the democrats will be fighting tooth and nail to keep this bill. The way our govt works these days I just don’t see all of these things happening. This bill is here to stay. Remember when Bush tried to mess with social security just a little? He got can blasted from both sides of the fence.

And once again…only if you drive.  If you do, you could possibly kill someone by driving.  That’s why you have insurance.  Can you pay a family for the death of a loved one due to your negligence? Or for property damage? Still want to ditch insurance companies?

That is overly simplistic and a just plain nonsense.  Just because you are on Mediaite, doesn’t mean you have to post.  Why not wait and post something substantive?

Like I said, we had  a “Herb Tarlich” party!  Loud sport coats, bell bottom slacks and ugly ties.  The best accouterment was a broad white belt!  LOL  (side burns had to planned well in advance)

We also had “Sparkle Parties” and “Hat Parties”  Those were the 80′s, so we weren’t just drinking Beer, wink, wink!!

Thank you for bringing back some hidden, yet, very fun memories.

Dear sir.Ronald Reagan’s three surviving children — Michael, Patti and Ron.But ask whether any of their father’s potential Republican successors could claim the Reagan mantle, and they say no way. Everyone is trying to Out-Reagan Reagan.Ron Reagan and Patti Davis sharply disagree with michael, calling the Tea Party’s message “extreme” and contrary to their father’s principles. You are right Michael would be conservative.(His dad probably would be considered a liberal by today’s GOP.)  Back to Michael… agreed.  Pati & Ron al Liberal. But you did get 1 out of 3. I’ll give you that.

FACT: Stem cell reseach is supported by far more Liberals than Conservatives. If you believe otherwise you sir are the one who is ignorant and know so much that isn’t so. Anyone tell you you just suck?

I fly the flag every day in front of my house except in bad weather. I live near our town common and faithfully have rasied, lowered and proporly fold it every night with help usually with one of my children. But you use the flag as your personal banner. Just another Rebulican wrapping himself in the flag. It sir belongs to all Americans.

Come on Newt! The debates are designed to bring out the differences between you and the other candidates. Otherwise what is the point. You’re smarter than that.

  • Katty

I have been watching political debates since Nixon/Kennedy and I must say, I have never seen a more despicable show of bias and idiocy as shown by Brian Williams and whoever the other guy was…I can’t imagine anything was accomplished by the lack of serious questions asked.

It’s just symbolism to you, for me it’s substance. Just another America-hating Lib trying to act like they like the way America works. Go watch you dvr’d episodes of Countdown. I no longer debate with fakers like you. Stop replying to me and I’ll do the same.

I do not recall anybody saying they would not watch that debate. Not anybody.

The big deal was Teapublicans saying they would be watching football, not Obama’s jobs speech.

You are just bitchin’ ’bout nothing.

  • Anonymous

Then what is a debate for?

  • Anonymous

What is the point of trying to pick the best “Republican” candidate if they all say the exact same thing? “Obama must go.” We all get that. We all know those guys want Obama’s job. Which one is the best one for that job is what debating is for.

  • Anonymous

    Romney AND Huntsman?
No  way. The Christian conservative base will not go for two guys who are so similar, and I don’t just mean their religion. Romney will probably pick someone form the southwest that we never even heard of.

  • Kato

I have got to agree.. It was so great seeing Newt put those 2 in their places. We have got to all agree we have to get Obama out before he kills our country.. We certainly cant afford another 4 years of his socialism and class warfare. I dont care who the Republican is running against Obama they will have my vote and support. Dont know when this country will learn that having a democrat as president will only make taxes go up and make us yellow and apologetic for being Americans.

Yeah, there’s nothing more courageous than whining during a presidential candidate debate about being asked questions you don’t want to answer about members of your own party when you’d prefer to just talk shit about the sitting president in an attempt to distract the easily distracted…

There are ways to deal with questions one would prefer not to deal with other than chiding the moderator, but given the GOP’s love of insulting people, Newt went with his voting base, instead.

  • Nicholle Moody

Theresa – perhaps you have been spending too much time listening to the mainstream media.  Perhaps you didn’t get the memo – the economy is in the toilet and Chris Wallace and the Obama administration would love to distract us from this issue.  Must I remind you that Obama has the House and the Senate until November 2010?  In the time the rammed through Obamacare – against the will of the people.  He failed to produce a budget and has trippled the deficit – while he and his wife continued to bill us for his vacations – more then $10M the last time I checked.  Newt is standing firm that moderators should be objective, trust-worthy people – not puppets for the administration.  His refusal to enter into this caddy, transparent attempt to make Republicans turn on each other should be applauded.  Also – the first budget put together this year came from the GOP – not the dems.  The GOP tried to cut back on spending and the dems rejected this approach.  Why?  Because they consider the American tax payer their private little piggy bank.  It is sick.  We have seen the VP and many others close to Obama attack the American people – racist, greedy, terrorists.  Saying things like the Tea Party can go straight to hell.  I know you think that as long as you are not affected it is ok for the dems to cheat and lie.  I recommend that you take a look at the Bill of Rights.  Which by the way does not soley exist to protect you and the left, but ALL Americans.  I think the ignorance of your party has reached its tipping point.  Conservatives, white people, Jews, and Christains are getting REALLY tired of being demonized and bullied by people who think that they can do anything they want at our expense.  The double standard needs to go away and so does the racist man in the white house.

  • Nicholle Moody

He did do something extraordinary – he stopped us from gettin attacked again.  Of course the lives of thousands of Americans who died on 9/11 means nothing to the left – that is evident by the causes you support and the lack of tolerance you show for anyone who is white, conservative, jewish or Christan. We were attacked all over the world like 12 times under Clinton and he did nothing.  Obama couldn’t even come back from his Christmas vacation to address the Christmas Eve bombing attempt.  And as for Iraq – I would just like to remind you that Hussain was given many, many opportunities to let the UN in to look for WMD – and he refused. We gave him so many chances to stop the war that would soon come, but he played the game and he lost.  Please stop trying to rewrite history with your left leaning mantra.  It is getting really, really old!

    You have me dating myself!

  • Roaddog

Your post is dumb on multiple levels. First, it shows your useful idiot side that is willing to just go along with Obama’s “blame Bush” rhetoric. Second if you think Bush was a true conservative or that any true conservative believes that, then you know nothing. Problem with Bush was he was a big govt rhino who grew the govt in the same manner Obama has (although 1/10 as much as Obama) by spending too much money the country didn’t have trying to do things he thought you stupid liberals would appreciate like “fighting Aids in Africa” and “no child left behind”, not realizing that you are so hopelessly partisan to Democrats you would never realize he was doing those things.

Have a nuther lil drinkee-poo, Newt.  Try to catch up to BushDrunk.  Stagger onwards.  You may be Prez yet!

  • Roaddog

Actually the Republican made the so-called newsman look like the petty, biased individual he is. Newt was right, level-headed thinking Americans not looking  for handouts know Obamacare is simply Obama’s  thinly-veiled attempt to further grow the Federal Govt against the original intentions of the creators of the Constitution. Knowledgeable peopple know it’s up to the individual states to decide for themselves and that the Federal govt just doesn’t and shouldn’t have those powers.People with a brain understand the dangers of creating a centralized entitlement society.

  • Roaddog

    Useful idiot alert.

OK 12voltman…….how about Bob Beckel and his potty mouth?  He routinely moderates ‘The Five’ on Fox and is actually quite entertaining to listen to.  He does have one unsavory characteristic that you liberals find sickening: The ability to offer compromise and admit when he’s wrong.  (I’m sure by your definition, that makes him a Tea Party member!)

  • Anonymous

Actually Bob if you look at when the fiscal problems began it was after the Dem’s had control of house and Senate (latter filibuster proof) after January 2006 …. Congress controls the purse strings not the President   …..it was a spendthrift Dem congress under Pelosi and Read that exploded the debt and deficit …. up till 2006, debt and deficits were manageable despite two wars. 80% of the increase in debt under Bush occurred after Jan 2006. Pelosi Read (and by agreement Obama after 2009) exploded debt by more than $6trillion in just 4 years ….. it took more than 200 years (including  a Civil War, 2 world wars, Vietnam, 1st Gulf War, Iraq and Afghanistan) to reach $8 trillion of national debt … take the blinkers of Bobby !!
