Robert Gibbs Returns To Fox News, Calls Bin Laden A “Cowardly, Murderous Thug”

White House press secretary Robert Gibbs made his return to Fox News Sunday this morning, for the first time since the White House vs. Fox News dust-up last fall. He used his appearance to survey the political landscape, touching upon Scott Brown‘s victory and Ben Bernanke‘s confirmation, before making at least one entirely uncontroversial comment that everyone can get behind. When asked about the new Osama bin Laden audio tape, Gibbs responded, “I think everybody in this world understands that this is somebody that has to pop up in our lives over an audiotape because he’s nothing but a cowardly, murderous thug and terrorist that will- some day, hopefully soon- be brought to justice.”

“…before making at least one entirely uncontroversial comment that everyone can get behind.”

“I think everybody in this world understands that this is somebody that has to pop up in our lives over an audiotape because he’s nothing but a cowardly, murderous thug and terrorist that will- some day, hopefully soon- be brought to justice.”

If by “justice” he means hung, drawn and quartered, then yes, I can get behind that comment.

Well I could use a couple more adjectives, but yeah, he’s right.

Sara, you just have to hope our military “gets” him before our administration does, otherwise, he’ll be stateside having lunch with KSM and pals while Holders’ law firm prepares a 5 star defense for him.

Yes! And by ‘brought to justice’ he means bring him to the Mayberry Jail and tell Barney Fife to keep an eye on him.

While I agree with the statement Gibbs made I felt the whole interview was a bunch of
softballs with little follow up. Sad.

Timzank, please read what NYPD’s Ray Kelly says about Eric Holder’s decision to hold the terrorism trials in NYC: http://www.loudcitizen.org/2010/01/nypds-ray-kelly-quietly-drops-anvil-on.html

I think that Obama is unraveling because he is entirely unprepared for his job (an understatement).

I am always amazed at the complete lack of faith shown in our judicial system. It actually works very, very well, to which witness the home-grown rightist terrorists from Oklahoma City and such foreign terrorists as the Islamic fundamentalist terrorists such as the infamous shoe bomber. To thrown our hands up in the air as Tizmank, Chris and JimW do is nothing but a lily-livered surrender to the terrorists. I should have thought that even the “let’s hold our hands up and dance around the airport bare-footed” right would have had enough of that during the eight (8) years preceding 2009.

On the more positive note, Gibbs has been on FOX, a pretty crappy, softball, no follow-up interview, to be sure, but this ought to make the FOX fans outrageously happy, perhaps even delirious.

I watched the interview and thought that Gibbs was given good questions but I did feel there was a serious lack of followup. Chris would ask a question, Gibbs would spout off the WH talking points then Chris would just ask another question. It was like I was watching ABC or something. Oh well…yet another breakdown in journalism.

OBL is in perfect company at FOX.
