Wait What?! Romney Comes Out Swinging Against Gingrich’s ‘Permanent Lunar Colony’ Plan

Mitt Romney went after Newt Gingrich strong on the topic of all things — his “permanent lunar colony” proposal at the outset of Saturday’s Iowa debate. Moderator George Stephanopoulos asked the erstwhile Massachusetts Governor about his specific disagreements with the former Speaker of the House. “Why don’t you name them?” Stephanopoulos asked. “Places where we disagree?” Romney said. “Let’s see. We can start with his idea to have a lunar colony that would mine minerals from the moon! I’m not in favor of spending that kind of money to do that.”

According to a New York Times‘ Op-Ed by David Brooks, Gingrich called for “a massive new program to build a permanent lunar colony to exploit the Moon’s resources.”

Romney is stretching the stress. Following a looney David -I suck- Brooks lead is like following Obama. We want fire; gouging the agencies of destruction and for the rinos and democrats to die off…

Imagine the nonsense Newt will dream up as president.  Soon enough we will be fighting over unionization of lunar workers mining President Newt’s rocks.  God help us all.

Lunar loony Mittens! Very seriously, though, we NEED to go back… to the moon. Check out China could Own the Moon by 2026:

This really is not looking good for the GOP.  I’m waiting for 2016 when we can get some real contenders like Jeb and Christie

So now we are going to have President Moonbeam? All clowns need makeup and red noses. OOOOPS I forgot. Rudolph has their red noses. My bad.

I think Newt should be the first one to be sent to the Moon… and should be left there!!

This is the part where all Small Government Conservatives should be firmly on Romney’s side. The logic of that issue should be indisputable. It took a very big government and lots of government supported research to achieve what we did. Of course the only way a conservative mind could turn this into a necessity is to militarize it in some way.

Unfortunately, Newtron can never risk going to the moon…he would be unable to lift his over-sized, malformed melon off of the lunar surface.
