Jacksonville Sheriff Says Mass Shooting Suspect Died at Scene, No Outstanding Suspects
On Saturday, shots broke out at a Madden video game competition in Jacksonville, Florida. Multiple casualties have been reported.
On Saturday afternoon, the Jacksonville Sheriff Mike Williams confirmed that the shooter is deceased and there are no outstanding suspects.
From the press conference:
“Here is what we know to this point. We have no outstanding suspects at this time. No outstanding suspects. We have one suspect in this case. He is deceased at the scene at this point. He is a white male and we are still working to confirm his identity. We have deceased victims at the scene. We also have injured people at the hospital. We will release the counts later on. We don’t have a count for you today currently.”
He also said it was yet to be determined if the shooting was local to the Jacksonville area.
An additional press conference is scheduled for later today when more details about the victims are expected to be released.
