‘I Know a Fraud When I See One’: Charlie Kirk Absolutely Blasts Speaker Mike Johnson Over Spending Deal
Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk tore into Mike Johnson by deriding the House Speaker as a “fraud” amid Congress’ spending negotiations.
Even though Johnson rose to the speakership amid the tumultuous ouster of Kevin McCarthy, the hard right has retained a great deal of skepticism for his leadership abilities, which has returned to the forefront with the latest efforts to avoid a government shutdown. After Johnson initiated his push for a new spending deal on Sunday, numerous Congressional Republicans publicly blasted the deal’s provisions while accusing Johnson of folding to Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer.
Kirk made his displeasure with Johnson abundantly clear on his radio show, trashing the speaker’s “elitist garbage” and his approach to the federal spending budget.
“Cut the crap, man! Okay,” Kirk exclaimed. “I know a fraud when I see one. Cut it out! You couldn’t broker a deal. You start shaking like a leaf when you get in a room with Chuck Schumer… Whatever they want, they get.”
