‘These Guys Fund Terrorist Organizations!’ Charlamagne Sounds Off on Trump Accepting Plane from Qatar

Charlamagne tha God argued that President Donald Trump accepting a gifted plane from Qatar presented serious national security concerns.

The president on Sunday announced on Truth Social that the Defense Department received a custom Boeing 747 as a temporary replacement to Air Force One while it undergoes a $3.9 billion update. Trump emphasized that the “free of charge” plan was gifted in a “very public and transparent transaction” and called Democrats who criticized the gesture “world class losers.”

Despite Trump’s insistence that he can legally accept the gift as president, the legality of the situation has been the subject of debate since the announcement. When asked about it Monday by ABC’s Rachel Scott, Trump went into an attack on the network and said she should be “embarrassed” for asking the question.

On The Breakfast Club, Charlamagne pointed to Qatar’s history of funding terror organizations — as well as potential national security concerns — to explain why he thought the gift was a bad idea.

“The U.S. Constitution prohibits government officials from accepting gifts from any king, prince or foreign state,” Charlamagne said, “but we’re in a post-constitutional country, so I guess that document means nothing to this administration; so who cares.

“Think about this: outside of it just being widely illegal, these guys fund terrorist organizations! How do we know they can’t just make this plane fall out the sky? And I know the Secret Service is going to do a sweep of the plane, but it’s probably loaded with listening devices and tracking devices. They’re going to have so much intel on our country. Why? Beware the noble gesture,” he added. Qatar has long been a prominent backer of Hamas and host of its leadership in Doha.
