Charlotte Hornets forward Miles Bridges has been issued a summons for an alleged domestic dispute that occurred Oct. 6, ESPN reported Thursday.

Bridges, 25, is currently suspended after pleading no contest to a felony domestic violence charge in November 2022. He missed the entire 2022-2023 season as legal proceedings went on.

According to the summons, Bridges is accused of throwing a billiard ball at his ex-girlfriend’s car. He and his ex have two children together, and the children were reportedly in the car at the time.

Bridges’ former girlfriend accused him of threatening to “take everything from her and withhold child support,” as she told police about the incident. Additionally, Bridges’ current girlfriend is accused of taking part in damaging the car. It’s unknown if the former girlfriend was in the car at the time.

The incident — which occurred around 9 p.m. at Bridges’ Charlotte residence — began as a routine custody exchange between the two parents before the situation escalated. Bridges is being summoned for violating a domestic violence protective order, misdemeanor child abuse, and injury to personal property.

Though Bridges missed an entire season due to the first incident, he was never officially suspended by the NBA. Once he pled no contest and received three years of probation — along with being required to attend a litany of counseling sessions — Bridges was suspended for 30 games. The league credited him with 20 games already served due to sitting out a season, meaning he’ll miss the first 10 games this season if he does end up playing.

Bridges’ attorneys did not immediately respond to ESPN’s request for comment. A spokesperson for the Hornets said the team is “in the process of gathering more information.”
