Fox & Friends Celebrates Trump Losing $1 Billion: ‘Wow! Pretty Impressive All the Things He’s Done!’

Fox & Friends ran to Donald Trump‘s defense on Wednesday by gushing over what a “bold businessman” he is in light of the latest reporting from the New York Times.

The president is railing against the Times‘ “fake News hit job” after they reported on a trove of tax information they obtained, which shows Trump lost over a billion dollars between 1985 and 1994. As the show began to discuss this, Ainsley Earhardt called the report “interesting,” but seemed to doubt that people will care, saying “it doesn’t matter now, he is already elected.”

Brian Kilmeade eventually got in by calling Trump a “bold businessman” and “there is nothing about this article that should surprise anybody.” He defended Trump’s losses by saying the president had incentives to buy buildings and businesses because “I will take a loss this year on my tax returns because I want to buy for a rainy day. I have the resources.”

“I can’t imagine having that much money spend imagine much money and being in debt. For him it makes sense,” Kilmeade said. “For Donald Trump, he says ‘I got some money but I want to really expand my empire. I want to take chances.’ That’s what he has done through his entire life.”

Earhardt re-entered the conversation by remarking on how Trump’s wealth is already an established detail in voters’ minds, and the report won’t change anyone’s’ opinion.

“If anything,” Earhardt said, “you read this and you’re like ‘wow, it’s pretty impressive all the things he has done in his life.’ It’s beyond what most of us could ever achieve.”
