Former President Barack Obama ripped President Donald Trump for how his administration mismanaged the coronavirus pandemic to the point that the White House became an infection hot zone.

At a rally in Florida to gin up support for former Vice President Joe Biden, Obama mocked Trump for treating the presidency like “a reality show,” then moved on to his successor’s constant complaints about how much the media is focusing on the pandemic. Obama reminded the crowd that 225,000 Americans have died from the virus before ridiculing Trump because “he’s jealous of Covid’s media coverage.”

“If he had been focused on Covid from the beginning, cases wouldn’t be reaching new record highs across the country this week,” said the former president. “If we were focused on Covid now, the White House wouldn’t be having its second outbreak in a month.”

Obama was alluding to the recent Covid-19 outbreak among staffers to Vice President Mike Pence. Since this comes weeks after the White House super-spreader event that left Trump and several of his allies infected, Obama mocked how Trump couldn’t protect the White House from the virus.

I lived in the White House for a while. You know, it’s a controlled environment. You can take some preventive measures in the White House to avoid getting sick, except this guy can’t seem to do it. He&

After that, Obama bashed White House chief of staff Mark Meadows for his admission “we’re not going to control the pandemic.

“They’re waving the white flag of surrender,” Obama said. “We can’t afford four more years of this.”
