Somewhat fittingly, on Halloween, Wolf Blitzer had his highest-rated show in weeks, pulling in approximately 199,000 viewers in the 25-54 demo at 5 p.m. He finished ahead of Chris Matthews by just 1,000 viewers, but lagged behind The Five by 100,000. His 199,000 demo viewers also gave him the win on CNN’s slate, besting Anderson Cooper‘s first-run at 8 p.m.

Other nuggets from Halloween’s cable news ratings:

  • The only show to dip below 100,000 in the demo was Joy Behar‘s, at 10 p.m., with an estimated 85,000 viewers.
  • Erin Burnett pulled a relatively decent 165,000 in the demo, but finished in fourth place at 7 p.m. behind Shepard Smith, Matthews, and Jane Velez-Mitchell.
  • A nod has to be given to HLN’s Showbiz Tonight at 11 p.m. It finished second in the demo, behind Bill O’Reilly’s repeat.
