Tim Ryan SCREAMS at Republicans Opposed to 1/6 Commission on House Floor: ‘What Else Has to Happen in This Country?!’

Ahead of floor vote on whether to form an independent commission to investigate the January 6, Capitol insurrection, Rep. Tim Ryan (D-OH) literally screamed at those Republicans who are opposed to the idea.

Ryan thanked the handful of Republicans who support the commission, including Rep. John Katko (R-NY), before turning his attention to the rest of the House GOP conference, which is largely expected to vote in opposition.

I want to thank the gentleman from New York and the other Republicans who are supporting this and thank them for their bipartisanship.

To the other 90% of our friends on the other side of the aisle, holy cow! Incoherence! No idea what you’re talking about!

Benghazi! You guys chased the former secretary of state all over the country, spent millions of dollars. We have people scaling the Capitol, hitting the Capitol police with lead pipes across the head and we can’t get bipartisanship! What else has to happen in this country?! Cops! This is a slap in the face to every rank and file cop in the United States. If we’re gonna take on China, if we’re gonna rebuild the country, if we’re gonna reverse climate change, we need two political parties in this country that are both living in reality and you ain’t one of ’em!

The House is expected to approve the commission before the Senate takes it up. There it faces an uncertain future, as Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) said he opposes its creation.

If the Senate fails to approve the 9/11-style commission to examine the events of Jan. 6, Democrats could use their majority status in both houses and wield their committee gavels to launch investigations and issue subpoenas, as Republicans did in the aforementioned Benghazi hearings.
