Nancy Pelosi Goes Nuclear on ‘Vile’ Trump: ‘Worst Thing on the Face of the Earth’

Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) unloaded on President Donald Trump, calling him a “vile creature” and “the worst thing on the face of the Earth.”

The 85-year-old lawmaker sat for an interview with CNN’s Elex Michaelson in San Francisco on Monday ahead of Tuesday’s vote in California on Proposition 50. If approved by voters, the ballot initiative would allow the Democratic-controlled legislature to bypass the state’s independent redistricting commission to redraw congressional maps in a way more favorable to Democrats. The initiative comes after Texas Republicans enacted a rare mid-decade redistricting to draw more districts that are favorable to Republicans. Trump adamantly endorsed the move. Similar efforts are underway in other states as the parties jockey for control of the U.S. House of Representatives in the 2026 midterm elections.

Pelosi supports Proposition 50, along with several other prominent California and national Democrats. That includes Governor Gavin Newsom, who has framed the issue as a way to fight back against the president.

The former speaker minced no words when discussing Trump with Michaelson:

PELOSI: He’s just a vile creature. The worst thing on the face of the Earth. But anyway–

MICHAELSON: You think he’s the worst thing on the face of the Earth?

TRUMP: I do, yeah. I do.

MICHAELSON: Why is that?

PELOSI: Because he’s the president of the United States, and he does not honor the Constitution of the United States. In fact, he’s turned the Supreme Court into a rogue court. He’s abolished the House of Representatives. He’s chilled the press. He’s chilled the press. He’s scared people who are in our country legally.

Pelosi’s remarks came amid the ongoing government shutdown and Speaker Mike Johnson’s (R-LA) decision to keep the House adjourned as Senate Democrats and Republicans remain at loggerheads over a Republican resolution to fund the government, which shut down on Oct. 1.
