Claire McCaskill Says She’s Going to Make Her Family Watch Capitol Riot Video for ‘Every 4th of July Going Forward’
MSNBC contributor and former Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO) said Friday she planned to start a “new family tradition” of watching the footage of January’s unrest in Washington, D.C.
“We’re going to start a new family tradition in my family,” McCaskill said in the closing segment of MSNBC’s Morning Joe. “On the Fourth of July and every Fourth of July going forward, we’re going to watch that video that The New York Times put together of January 6.”
McCaskill was referencing 40 minutes of documentary-style footage The Times compiled of the January events that led to a breach of the Capitol complex in Washington, D.C.
She served as a two-term senator from Missouri before Republican Josh Hawley toppled her in 2018, which led to her new career several months later as a political analyst for NBC.
