CNN’s Jeff Zeleny Asks Spicer What Trump’s Voter Fraud Claims ‘Mean for Democracy’

Today’s White House press briefing featured a lot of questions about President Trump’s unsubstantiated claim of millions of illegal votes in the 2016 election, including a question from CNN’s Jeff Zeleny about what Trump’s claims “mean for democracy.”

Zeleny not only questioned whether Trump is “comfortable” with his win, given his claims, but he also suggested that “maybe he didn’t win if that’s the case.”

Spicer said that Trump is definitely comfortable with his victory and that “he believes what he believes.”

Zeleny responded by asking, “What does that mean for democracy, though?”

Spicer said “it means that I’ve answered your question” and he immediately moved on to take other questions.

After the briefing, Zeleny spoke with Brooke Baldwin and said this kind of thing matters when the person making the claim has the weight of the Oval Office behind them.
