A former producer of NBC show The Apprentice, which starred none other than Donald Trump, said Wednesday that there are videos of the now-president making a number of “unfathomably despicable” racist, sexist and anti-semitic comments during his time on the show.
Bill Pruitt appeared on NPR’s Embedded Podcast on Wednesday to talk about the hit reality show, which Trump hosted for 14 seasons, and was asked about inappropriate comments Trump allegedly made.
When asked if the comments were just sexist, Pruitt replied “No,” adding they were also “[very] much a racist issue.”
He was then asked if they included comments about “African-Americans, Jewish people, all of the above,” and Pruitt replied “Yes.”
Pruitt made headlines last year when he tweeted in the aftermath of the release of the Access Hollywood tapes — which caught Trump bragging about sexually assaulting women — that “when it comes to the #trumptapes there are far worse.”
Pruitt’s nondisclosure agreement means he cannot reveal exactly what Trump said, but he did say that there are tapes of the comments “somewhere, in some warehouse.”
The producer noted that they were constantly recording, and often caught exchanges on set. “Out of those exchanges came some really unfathomably despicable words said by this guy who is a TV star,” he said. “I heard it. I watched it, and those things are somewhere in some warehouse.”
