GOP Candidate Denounces Misogynistic Attacks Using Powerful Visual Imagery
South Dakota Republican Annette Bosworth held a press conference on Tuesday in which she took on the misogynistic attacks on her online during her Senate candidacy, and did so in a room featuring all the words flung at her. Bosworth teared up as she recounted how her 10-hear-old son learned of all the awful things people have been saying about her, and denounced the “hateful” and “hurtful” abuse being hurled her way simply for being a woman running for public office.
She brought up the supposed war on women Democrats are always talking about and said, “Much of what you see here is written by the supposedly tolerant liberal. The message is clear: conservative women are fair game.”
And to really hammer home the point she was bying to make, Bosworth was surrounded by campaign signs her staffers took graffiti to, and wrote out the words she’s been called online.
