GOP Rep Says It Doesn’t Matter If Trump Doesn’t Want to Investigate Clinton, Congress Still Should

Representative Jim Jordan (R-OH) appeared on Fox News today and Steve Doocy pressed him about what Congress will do regarding Hillary Clinton now that President-elect Donald Trump has indicated he isn’t actually going to pursue investigating her.

Obviously, this didn’t sit well with the GOP or its base. After all, “lock her up” chants were a key part of Trump’s campaign rallies. That’s why the Republican-run House doesn’t appear to want to stop looking into Clinton’s various activities. Doocy asked Jordan about that, inquiring, “If the top guy in your party is saying, ‘Nah, I don’t feel that strongly about it,’ why would you go forward with it?”

Jordan said pretty plainly that Congress has a “Constitutional obligation” to keep going.

Watch above to see Jordan talk about what the investigations could look like under AG Jeff Sessions.
