Maryland Attorney General Doug Gansler apparently enjoys a good time. So much so, in fact, that he refused to break up one such good time he attended in June even though that is his job.
Gansler, pictured in white with a cell phone camera in hand, appeared at a house party over the summer where the underage teens were apparently enjoying alcoholic beverages.
“As the night wore on, teens at the South Bethany rental home posted tweets, photos and videos of a bash labeled the ‘eviction party’ for its intensity,” the Baltimore Sun reports. The paper adds that they have confirmed alcohol was being consumed by minors at this event.
Gansler, a Democratic gubernatorial candidate in Maryland, says that he stopped by the South Bethany rental beach home over the summer in order to talk with his teenage son briefly. He says he then left and added that it was not his responsibility either as a parent or as a law enforcement official to put an end to the revelry.
“Assume for purposes of discussion that there was widespread drinking at this party,” Gansler said when asked why he did not intervene. “How is that relevant to me?”
“The question is, do I have any moral authority over other people’s children at beach week in another state?” he asked. “I say no.”
