Monopoly Has Set Up a Helpline So Your Family Doesn’t Get Torn Apart Over the Holidays

shutterstock_252368665We’ve all sworn off friends and cut relatives out of our lives over games of Monopoly gone gone awry. No? Not all of us have done that? Now, you definitely don’t have to. Metro.Co.UK is reporting that the makers of the game have set up a helpline in the UK that will be open from December 24th through December 26th to ensure that the game doesn’t ruin your holidays.

Research shows that 51% of Monopoly games end in fighting. The causes of these fights, most often, are due to people making up rules. Other causes for arguments include stealing from the bank, the rules of “Free Parking,” and being too cocky if you’re in the lead.

Craig Wilkins, who heads up marketing for Hasbro in the UK & Ireland said “We’ll have experts on hand with the official rulebooks to instantly settle any disputes, and advice on how to resolve common complaints, with each person also having the opportunity to make a donation to Childline when they call.”
