A Polish town has banned the image of Winnie the Pooh from a local playground because of his “dubious sexuality” and, according to one local official, is a “hermaphrodite.”
Yes, according to The Independent, a council discussion in the town of Tuszyn over what character to feature in a children’s play area ended with Pooh being deemed too inappropriate.
One councilor said, “The problem with that bear is it doesn’t have a complete wardrobe.” Another opined, “It is half naked which is wholly inappropriate for children.”
Also, there was this… well, there’s no other way to put it… f*cking weirdness:
One unnamed councillor can be heard discussing Pooh’s sexuality, arguing that “it doesn’t wear underpants because it doesn’t have a sex” before another, Hanna Jachimska starts criticising Winnie the Pooh author AA Milne.
“This is very disturbing but can you imagine! The author was over 60 and cut [Pooh’s] testicles off with a razor blade because he had a problem with his identity,” she said.
So now, probably for the first time in your life, you have seen “Winnie the Pooh” and “testicles” in the same sentence.
