Sarah Silverman is a comedian and active political observer. She has earned a place as a cultural icon in the digital age.
She also almost died last week, apparently.
She explained on Facebook:
Hi. This is me telling everyone in my life at once why I haven’t been around. This will not interest everyone so feel…
Her “telling everyone in [her] life at once” translates to typing a message to her 1,000,000+ followers on Facebook, which is a telling indicator of her celebrity and what a shock it would have been if she had died of a random case of epiglottis or, as she puts it, “just a sore throat.”
The entire thing is worth a read and I won’t spoil it by paraphrasing her jokes and humility here. Just know and be grateful that there will be more roles like the ones she played in School of Rock and Wreck-It Ralph in the future.
Also, watch out for epiglottis!
