‘They Don’t Respect the Law’: Trump Slams MSNBC’s ‘Bad People’ in Response to Maddow’s Tax Report
Jesse Watters premiered a new interview with President Trump tonight on Watters’ World, where Trump took the opportunity to blast “leakers” as he discussed how MSNBC got their hands on his tax returns this week.
Watters asked Trump about Rachel Maddow, who reported on Trump’s 2005 tax returns on her show, and subsequently received blowback for hyping up a nonexistent bombshell. Watters asked Trump about this and about the media figures who wonder whether Trump leaked the returns on purpose in order to distract from the intrigue surrounding the years of tax reports he refuses to disclose.
Trump immediately went on the attack, saying, “They are bad people. There is something wrong with them….It’s illegal to do what they did.” Trump eventually turned to his argument that Washington insiders are trying to leak information about him in order to hurt his presidency.
“It’s terrible what’s going on in Washington. We have a certain establishment out there that’s leaking,” Trump said. “They don’t respect the law and we have to change that.”
