Time Magazine Fires Back at Trump’s Person of the Year Tweet: ‘President Is Incorrect’
President Trump has now gotten a rebuke from Time Magazine.
Earlier tonight, the President claimed on Twitter that the magazine reached out to say he was told he’s “PROBABLY” going to be named Person of the Year, but he would have to do an interview/photoshoot, so he turned them down.
Time Magazine called to say that I was PROBABLY going to be named “Man (Person) of the Year,” like last year, but I would have to agree to an interview and a major photo shoot. I said probably is no good and took a pass. Thanks anyway!

Trump was mocked on social media for the tweet, including by a former managing editor for Time:
Hate to tell you but that PROBABLY means you’re NOT Person of the Year. They just wanted a photo shoot. But I’m sure you still have that fake TIME cover somewhere in storage. https://t.co/HkW1XkKxXK

And now the magazine itself has weighed in, saying bluntly “the President is incorrect”:
The President is incorrect about how we choose Person of the Year. TIME does not comment on our choice until publication, which is December 6.
