After a morning of various D.C. political figures calling for Attorney General Jeff Sessions to either rescue himself or resign over allegations that he colluded with Russian ambassador to the U.S. Sergey Kislyak, President Donald Trump has finally spoken up on the matter.

POTUS’s remarks came Thursday afternoon while he was in Newport News, Virginia, touring the USS Gerald Ford. President Trump said that he had “total” confidence in Sessions, despite mounting evidence that the AG spoke twice with Russia’s ambassador to the U.S. last year and failing to inform senators during his confirmation hearing.

Sessions, himself, went on the record earlier today, denouncing the rumors by saying, “Well, I have not met with any Russians at any time to discuss any political campaign.”

The President will be giving a speech shortly while in Virginia, and we will update if any further comments are given regarding AG Sessions.
